Man, things sure got going full steam around here pretty quickly today, huh? In case you were also neglecting the site today in favor of not getting fired at your real job, you sure missed a whirlwind of a Thursday that all started with Matt’s post below about photos of the Karen Sypher protesters posted by the Courier-Journal. But, as interesting as it was for us here in the Big Blue Nation, the story actually got quite a bit of attention nationally as it was first linked up over at Deadspin, and then also by The Big Lead and even made it’s way to the top of the “Best of Sports Blogs” section of Real Clear Sports (which is a HUGE deal if you’re not aware)….which, being that we’re just a couple of dorks writing about UK and all, is a pretty big deal around these parts. So, yes, we’re a little prideful today…for Matt’s work. All for one and one for all, right?
Then we got some big-time news from John Wall that….ummm….there is no John Wall news. After rumors of an alleged deadline to declare which school will gain his academic presence for the 2009-2010 school year, Wall denied that there was such a deadline and that the decision will not be tomorrow. Unless he decides to Wall us all and change his mind. Which, let’s be serious, could very well happen. Either way, the youngster from Raleigh will pick between the same four everyone has suspected all along: UK, Duke, Miami and Florida.
Also, legal troubles hit former Scott County star Bud Mackey and, sadly, there were more tough times for former UK baseball player Jim Leyritz, who has had a tough go at things the past few years.
Basically, there is a lot to talk about…..
…..so make sure you tune in tonight as the show that has yet to be named (suggestions below) will be taking to the CW and Louisville Sports Buzz. Matt Jones will be joined again by the well-dressed and well-informed Chip Cosby (I’m aiming for your seat, Chip) as his co-host. They’ll be talking all the news of the day and dishing out hot sports opinions. You can watch it live here starting at 11:30 and make your voice heard by calling (502) 267-2422.
Oh yeah, Matt is also claiming he’s got a new hairstyle sure to make the the ladies swoon. Check it out.
