The most difficult task in modern day UK basketball coverage may be figuring out where Billy Gillispie is on a given day. As we told you yesterday, Gillispie began the day in North Carolina and ended it in Illinois to watch JUCO riser Josh Harrellson. Josh is the big man who originally signed a LOI with Western Illinois and then headed to Junior College where by NCAA rule, he must spend two years UNLESS Western Illinois releases him from his letter. They are not doing that, much to the Harrellson family’s anger, and thus Josh has yet to be contacted personally by UK and his recruitment for next season is still up in the air. As a player, Josh is top-notch, displaying a solid shooting touch and an ability to get on the glass. He has scored 40 on a couple of occasions this year, and that talent is what has led Gillispie to see him on more than one occasion, including last night. Josh loves Kentucky and his coach has suggested they could be the favorite…..but first Western Illinois must release him from the NCAA-enforced slavery that is the National Letter of Intent. Will it happen? We shall see…..
