In that hardly anybody ever reads this site, I think it’s safe to let KSR in on a little secret; i.e., FSU’s approach to recruiting Andrew is basically smoke and mirrors!! We know we can’t touch UK for media exposure, fan-base and career NBA opportunities. Yeah, I’m a pretty good coach (for the ACC), but for some unknown reason Andrew has put us in the running for his services! May staff is running around shitting their pants, just thinking we might stumble on to him. We know however, this is fantasy and that Andrew will ultimately make the only decision that makes sense in the end. In the meantime, we’re enjoying the ride. Best exposure we’ve had in ages…competing with Kentucky for the player of the year!!!!

  26. Ron Burgundy

I get really confused by these parents that really want their children to go to their alma mater due to sentimental value. Sure it would be great if you had a “normal” kid, but if you have a future multi-millionaire, shouldn’t you want what is best for them? There is no way FSU is best for any future basketball superstar.

My thoughts are because Wiggins, a kid who by all indications wants to enjoy hs, is reclassifying UK and FSU are the only choices. FSU due to the parents and UK because of Cal and the NBA. If you love hs but still reclassify you realize it’s a business decision. The best business decision for Andrew is UK. All other schools present s variable of surprise.

My most distinct memory of high school was in a class called War and American Society in which we watched war movies everyday. Our teacher would always cue the movie to where we stopped before class started, and then went into the hallway until the bell rang. A fellow student once switched the movie out with a certain Adult Film. He cued to a rather graphic scene and when our teacher started the film he freaked out and went and covered the screen with his body so all we heard were moans and screams for about 30 seconds. No idea why he didn’t turn off the tv.

Matt, please tell Shannon or Drew to get the soundbite from the all-access episode where Cal is teaching Nerlens and Willie to pull the rebound off the board. Cal makes this other worldly sound that I’ve never heard before, and I was laughing hysterically. It would be a good soundbite to use after “fire up the treadmill!” It sounds something like, “GAA!”

Just a quick comparison for this years team to last. I felt last year that if Anthony Davis got in foul trouble we could be extremely vulnerable (despite the great players surrounding him). He was just that big of a difference on defense, as well as on offense. However, the one plus I feel this team has, is more depth at that 5 spot. If Nerlons was to get into foul trouble, I believe WCS is a definite boost when compared to last years team. And then playing them both together is another added plus when compared to last years team. At the same time, I do understand our team last year was a once in a decade or two team. The balance they showed at every position would be near impossible for any team to match. I’m excited. It’s a much different team, and I like that.

241 — I understand your suspicion of another blowout. I would normally agree if I hadn’t really paid attention to Mizzou this entire season. I’m thinking about how the two teams’ offensive and defensive lines stack up against ours and they will be quite a relief for our guys to play against.

But just like the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, back up QB’s have field days against our matador defense, especially on the road.
