The Terrence Jones wait continues. Matt wrote a little bit yesterday about Jones speaking with Rivals and saying that he’s still pretty undecided. Other than the press conference and picking the UW hat, you could probably just as easily look at this situation as a prolonged recruitment with no decision made yet. Jim Moore of the Seattle PI thinks that the wait may extend all the way to the end of the signing period, May 19th, and I really can’t fault him for believing so. I think I’m leaning toward that way of thinking as well.
So what are we waiting for? Looking at some of the highlights from his high school season this year, you can tell right off the bat that this kid is a talent that any team would be willing to wait for. He’s got everything UK’s 2010 class needs and will fill the void of a multi-skilled forward. But what if we miss on Jones again? Well, you can take a look at this video from last year’s AAU season, which features Marcus Thornton in a showdown with Jones. I feel like I’d be leading you astray though if I didn’t say that this video was probably edited to show Thornton’s top highlights and I’m sure that Jones got his too but it is nice to see that Thornton is capable of playing to level of Jones’ competition, at least in spurts.
