West wants to visit Miami and Ole Miss

Darius West canceled his assumed Thursday commitment to Kentucky because he’s uneasy about ending things now and he’d like to visit more schools. Miami and Ole Miss are two of those schools, according to

West’s final four leading up to Thursday were Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State and Wisconsin, as Tyler mentioned in the post just south of this.

Whatever West!! We are going to be for real–go visit–it’s part of the process!! There is no way Ole Miss will rise up over LSU-AL-even Aub and Ark. But Ky in 4 years will be right in the mix with Fla and Ga! Hope you believe Kentucky is for real!!

Let this young fella enjoy the recruiting process…if he’s meant to be a Cat he will be. We need to be able to survive these kinds of twists and turns. I’m not worried about Miami and as #1 points out, there was a time when we were a clear notch above Ole Miss and we’ll get back there soon.

This is why I don’t obsess over football recruiting until signing day. Every kid wants to “be like Andrew”, even if they don’t play basketball.

Drew Barker comes across to me as a major tool. While I like his energy/enthusiasm and willingness to help recruit other good players, he needs to tone it down a few notches.

I say Drew Barker is the best player/recruiter we may have ever seen at UK. He’s going to pull a lot more in than he turns off

A Canadian study from 1994 found that people who drive with their headlights on during daylight hours have an 11 percent decreased risk of being in an accident with another automobile. Don’t forget to turn your headlights on when out there on the road during the day, it could save you an expensive accident!

well for starters the #1 recruit in the countrys older brother goes to ole miss already so there was that. also if u combine extremely easy classes with the best looking girls in the country and consider the fact that ole miss is consistently a top 3 party school, i really can’t find a reason why these kids WOULDNT wanna go to ole miss

  14. No big deal

The kid is making the right call. If he is not absolutely sure he wants to attend UK, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, to be gained by an early commitment. He is a four-star recruit who probably can attend just about any college he wants. I hope that is UK but if it is not then so be it. Besides, it is far worse to make an early commitment only to rescind it later. Further, the hard truth is that early commitments in football don’t mean all that much. No reason to get too excited or worried about football recruiting until late January 2014. Just be thankful, like me, that UK is being strongly considered by higher quality recruits than in years past.

Rumor in Central MS is Ole Miss is paying players by a guy from Bay Springs, MS named Jamie Holder. Ought to be interesting if NCAA ever gets involved.

Funny Miami which is on the radar for paying players is his other school cited to visit.
