Kansas loses 3 in a row (one coming against TCU) and their still top 15. Cats lose 2 in a row to two ranked teams and drop from 9 to out of the poll?

If we could have taken care of business at home, then we would probably be around 15 or a couple spots lower.

I’m more shocked that Louisville only dropped one spot and currently sits at #12. I’m more worried about UK peaking in the tournament than I am about being ranked right now.

@ #6 I agree with you. We’d have been in sooner without the losses to Bama & A&M. However, to be honest, I don’t like being ranked before playing UF. A loss tomorrow would knock us back out and it’s doubtful we’d make it back in. As much as I hate conspiracy theories, this feels like a setup

Florida fans will be chanting “Overrated” with 7-8 minutes remaining in the game tomorrow night.

Like Doug Gottlieb told Clark Kellog after he starting sucking off Indiana and the Big 10 at halftime of the IU/OSU game yesterday. While laughing, “WHY KEEP SCORE THEN”?? How does a team that loses to a BUBBLE at Illinois stay #1 when as much as I hate Duke they didnt lose last week. Hell Miami hasnt lost since Dec 25th when they got there big boy back, and have since beat UNC badly twice, #19 NC State, & Duke when they were top 3?? What a joke, and Kansas dropping 3 in a row & 2 of those were against complete garbage teams only drops 6 spots to #14. Someone brought up conspiracy, I’ve been having that vibe all year long!!

Seems to me we got voted in for marketing reasons; just in time for ESPN to showcase a top-25 match-up. With that being said, I feel like we’re better than a few teams a couple spots ahead of us.

Can you imagine how bad Florida would punish Lousville in Gainesville?? It doesnt take much at the PG spot anymore to get the best of their pre season all american in Siva, & Florida would have him looking stupid. Pitino has owned head to heads w/ Donavon but that would all change quickly on either court but especially @ FL.

Ohio State still being ranked #15 is absurd. They’ve lost to every ranked team they’ve played this yr, besides the first time they played Michigan, including an embarrassing loss to IU at home. So, they’ve beat one ranked team out of like 8 chances and are still ranked that high!? That’s crazy.

Colorado State being ranked is one of the most befuddling things I’ve ever seen. Look at their schedule and explain to me how they are a top 25 team. Good luck. And somehow, they’ve been to the NCAA Tourney 9 times, but have 10 NCAA Tournament losses. Huh? When was the tournament double elimination?

    16. Why not Gonzaga? They haven’t screwed up royally this year. Yes, they got blown out by Illinois, but that was early in the season. A one-point loss to Butler is respectable. They can’t help that their conference sucks any more than we can help that the entire SEC is down. They are at least doing what they are supposed to, which is more than you can say of Indiana, Duke and others.

If the usual suspects can’t hold on to #1, give someone else a shot. Wouldn’t be too crazy given how this entire season has gone.

‘Bout time! And there’s NO WAY Kansas should still be in the top 15 after three straight losses, with one of them a VERY BAD loss.

As much as I hate to say it, L-ville is ranked just about right- while they lost in a rediculous way, they still lost on the road and played ND competitively. I cannot justify Indiana staying number 1 even though their loss was to a fluke regulation 3 pt shot to put game into OT. I think they should have dropped a spot or two. I really don’t know if ANY team really deserves the #1 ranking right now but with recent play, I would probably put Miami there above Duke (even though Duke has a better record).
As for the Cats, I’m hoping maybe a top 25 ranking is the motivator that they seem to be missing! Murphy’s law would tell me it’s going to backfire on us but this team just doesn’t seem to be “normal” so perhaps it will propel their play and cause some killer instinct to surface. Hopefully it lights a fire to continue climbing up the polls.

So you get a tourney loss but not a tourney appearance by losing a play-in game? Doesn’t make a lot of sense but that would explain it.

Half the people crying when we weren’t ranked, half crying now that we are. If everybody voting on here ranked the teams, it would come out probably just about like this. you really think every voter on this poll contacts everyone else to have a conspiracy. It’s the mid season AP poll, and it’s just not that important. Almost everyone has bad losses and good wins, so somebody has to be ranked. Not that important people, settle down.
