    13) Read the story a few posts below. Nothing has changed with Nerlens’ status. Cal may have used the wrong choice of words in his statement.

KentuckyBasketballForum.com”> just reported Lee pushed back the time so he could have some time to shave a UK logo in his head.

With all the recruits being mentioned, I honestly don’t remember reading about this kid. Looks very athletic so wondering if he can handle the mental aspect of being part of the BBN.

That pass off of a nice spin move was super. And the backwards finger roll was nice. I would have liked to have seen a jump shot or two but none were included. I’ll find a video that does show it. He’s gonna be a real good ‘get’.

Ben Roberts just reported that he talked to the head guy of espn recruiting and he told him that espn is not covering the announcement…so wtf is going on then?

  27. FakeZagoria
    3:16 pm October 17, 2012 Permalink

Now it’s being reported that ESPN has pushed the announcement back to 7pm EST due to delays on their end.

  28. FakeZagoria
    3:18 pm October 17, 2012 Permalink

Apparently the delay to 7pm is due to the UK documentary production crew from ESPN. That pretty much clinches that it’s going to be Kentucky for Marcus Lee.

An ESPN producer stated what #29 said. It will not be announced live on ESPN, but said Lee’s decision will be talked about tomorrow on ESPNU between 5-6pm (I think) when they talk about UK.

These kinds of recruits are the kids that end up making these Kentucky teams work. You’ve not heard much about Marcus Lee, and he’s not a likely lottery pick after one season; but a couple years with the program, and this kid’s one of those juniors that just really stands out and helps the young guns acclimate themselves to the madness that is playing basketball anywhere in this state.

I believed the NCAA cleared Derrick Rose as well.

  37. J A Brooks
    4:09 pm October 17, 2012 Permalink

    35) Lee will be a 6th man type as a freshman kind of like Wiltjer but obviously a different skill set. As a sophmore he’ll either be a starter with All-SEC preseason hype or he’ll be in a Darius Miller role where he plays as much as the starters but isn’t technically a starter.

It won’t take 2 or 3 years for this kid to produce. He’s a monster with unlimited potential. He’ll be on some draft boards after his freshman year but I doubt he is a 1 and done… I agree with that much. He’s more of a Doron Lamb type impact (Lamb was ranked #21) where he’s still a huge recruit, just not an obvious 1 and done. He’s an NBA player for sure, we’ll just get more than 1 year out of him.

He does have the potential to leave after 1 year though, its just not likely since he won’t be starting. Anyone that thinks this is just a “throw in” is WAY WAY WAY off base though.

JA Brooks is way off, Marcus Lee is a stud he will play seriou minutes as a freshman and has a HUGE upside. Don’t just pay attention to rankings they don’t necessarily mean that much

Seems like yesterday we were all clamoring for….. man I cant even remember those losers names anymore that Billy Clyde was recruiting… wow. I’m sad because I don’t think we can sustain this forever. Oh well, enjoy it for the time being I guess.
