University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Well that doesn’t make much sense…

Mike Hamilton resigned as athletic director of the University of Low, Down, Dirty Snitches today but he will remain in position through June 30. Wait… what?… I guess you can say today’s resignation is just a three weeks notice. Hamilton will still represent the university at the NCAA Committee on Infractions meetings later this week. That’s where UT will have to explain it’s violations in football and basketball to the important people with the big hammer. It seems like it would’ve been easier to go into the COI meetings without Hamilton and try to force some of the blame on him.

My question is: Why announce today if the guy’s going to keep his job for another three weeks? It’s just going to make things awkward for everyone.

An interim AD has not been discussed but I can bet ya those garbage truck workers in Knoxville are wanting to hear Phillip Fulmer’s name in the mix.

They are making him get grilled in front of the committee before they send him on his merry way. I would kind of like their style if it wasn’t UT.

Good idea on UT’s part. What is the NCAA going to say to him, “We will have your job!”

“You can’t fire me! I quit! No literally, I did just the other day.”

Just read that CM Newton’s son is now the AD at Samford, so maybe this really is legit. I’ll keep looking but if anyone knows something, how about posting. Thanks!

Why have a new AD be a part of something they know nothing about. Hamilton was at the helm when it all occurred so he’s the one that should answer the questions. Just makes sense. As far as his resignation, when UT learned of the dates the NCAA Infraction Committee would be conducting the interviews, that’s when UT said okay Hamilton after this your gone. Three weeks notice isn’t that big of a deal nor unusual. Depending on who your employer is, a two week notice when leaving a job is mandatory and by not abiding by that would give your employer the right to reduce your compensation package.

Anyone else see this yet? John Adams (columnist at Knox New Sentinel) apparently couldn’t care less about any charges of hypocrisy or unoriginality with his latest digs at UK.
