This picture is starting to grow on me.
As we’ve mentioned several times, there were a group of recruits in town this weekend for the Derby City Classic and for recruiting visits. Here is a quick review:
Josh Harrellson– Harrellson and his jorts took their official visit earlier in the weekend but, even though the trip went well and Harrellson liked what he saw, he is still making the rest of his recruiting trips. His coach told Evan earlier in the week that he didn’t want to make the same mistake he made before and commit without being 100% positive. Harrellson will be visiting St. Louis, his hometown school, this weekend.
Ater Majok – Majok, who took his visit last weekend, scored 14 points and grabbed five boards in the Derby City game, while showing his offensive versatility. Majok will be visiting UConn this weekend, who is believed to be the leader for his services. If there is one guy in this group that the Cats really need to get, then this is him.
Maurice Sutton – The big man from Maryland got all Eddie House-like and put up 17 points in only 13 minutes in Saturday’s all-star game and is still heavily leaning toward the Cats. He is on his official visit at the moment and could come out of the weekend with a spot on the 2008 team.
Paul McCoy – McCoy went for 4 points and two assists in Saturday’s game and is on his official visit right now. This is another need player for the Cats – especially if Derrick Jasper decides to transfer. Even if Jasper returns, the Cats lack a small, quick guard to matchup with smaller, athletic point guards. McCoy can provide those minutes for next year’s team.
Juan Pattillo– Kevin Galloway’s juco teammate has committed to Oklahoma, according to Rivals. This isn’t a huge recruiting loss for the Cats as Pattillo didn’t necessarily fill a need for them. Right now, they need to add a point guard and big post player. Pattillo’s commitment gives the Sooners a five-man recruiting class, highlighted by Willie Warren.
