I’m glad The Truth called in yesterday. Few things make me smile bigger than hearing The Truth say ‘Lay it on me Big Daddy!’ Something I just thought of after hearing Tom Leach talk about the new SEC Network and seeing a tweet from Fake Tom Leach, the SEC Network better have commercials for Old Folks Country Sausage! If we can’t watch UK without hearing ‘Its goooo-od!’, then we will riot!

Not thrilled that TBS will have the semi-finals for the NCAA tournment that we WILL BE playing in. I refuse to pay Time Warner $60 just for cable. Not after since they couldn’t reach a deal with uncle Matt.

Mr. Ramsey is suppose to be in contact with McD’s… free food for him.

Charles Ramsey is hero regardless of his police record! I can’t believe you Matt Jones! It is sad that we can assume that this man has a police record based on his race and economic station, because you are probably right, because law enforcement unfairly targets minorities and poor people, and as a result they have a higher incarceration rate than let’s say a nice white lawyer from the hills of Kentucky. If the nice white people had the police up in their business every day, for just driving down the street, then we would see plenty more white folks with police records. So police record might mean something to you and your ilk, but police record for the rest of us, poor and minorities just comes with the circumstances of our birth.

Second of all what is the point of incarceration if it was not for the purpose of reformation. If he did serve his time, he served it and paid for his crime. People deserve a second chance, not all but most do! Have some respect for those that have served their time and paid the price, they deserve a second chance!

He said he never wanted to play with Larry and Magic but rather he wanted to BEAT Larry and Magic. If Wiggins doesn’t choose UK, I think that’s gonna be the reason why. I don’t think of it as racism at all – just someone poking fun at differences. Kind of like making fun of the dialects from different parts of the country – New Jersey, Boston, deep south, etc. Now I am not dumb enough to say that racism does not exist in this country, but when you sound the alarm over something as relatively harmless as this, it takes attention away from the REAL racial problems in American society today.

  215. derp
    11:19 am May 8, 2013 Permalink

Yes, you can still get broadcast TV with rabbit ears — the signals are still on the same frequencies and the antenna deals only with physical reception of the signals. The ‘box’ is a digital tuner that can be used with old tv’s that only have analog tuners. Any tv sold since about 2005 has a digital tuner built in and does not need the box. Broadcast comes in in full 1080HD if you have the tv to handle it and looks better than the same signal received and routed through cable.

We haven’t had cable for over 2 years. We have DIGITAL rabbit ears & receive nearly 40 channels of HD programming for free in NKY. Add that to Netflix & Hulu, sports via the Internet and its way better than paying for cable, until the Final Four on TBS. That sucks.

If you have an HDTV with a built-in tuner(most all due now) you can receive over the air broadcasts. Local stations (WLEX, WKYT, FOX) will air network programming (NBC, ABC, FOX). The rabbit ears will improve the reception. I have watched TV like this for some time.

Matt you assume too much. There are many people who still do not have basic cable or a DS provider and receive whatever television signal through over the air reception. Some people do not value television entertainment or download from their internet connection. Many families in the country or what you would call inner city truly cannot afford it. Even if it is only 15 dollars, some people put money in other places. You need to look further than the upper and middle classes because you come off sounding like a person that you probably really aren’t. I agree it will not matter to the majority but a pretty decent sized group of people in your home state may miss out.

Areas in Kentucky can be very Dish Network heavy. A lot of Kentuckians don’t have cable. But, Dish offers TBS, so I don’t anticipate a huge drop in ratings. The 5-10% of viewers who don’t get TBS will surely find a bar, restaurant, or neighbor who has it.

Takes valuable inventory off of the CBS affiliates though. About the only people it affects.

It’s also worth noting that the over-the-air signal is actually better quality HD than through the cable company. The cable company compresses the signal and then the cable box decompresses it. Through this compression, some quality is lost.

The absolute worst, without any doubt, is a community toilet on the Apalachain Trail in the Smokey’s, in August, in the middle of the wilderness far away from any roads. Horrendous, and only those that have experienced it can understand.

I’m OCD, I don’t like public restrooms. That being said when you’re pregnant and you have to go you learn to squat not sit. I also take my own hand sanitizer and use it at least 3 times during/after my visit.

Construction site port-a-potties are the absolute worst. At new house sites you are sometimes stranded and have only this option. I used to run a painting company and always followed the drywall crews. Those are some dirty and disgusting mofo’s.

Also need to give a shout out to the North Avenue beach public restroom in Chicago, the one just before walking over the bridge over Lake Shore Drive – easily in the top 5 of worst bathrooms on the planet. Had to hit that one last summer and it will not be forgotten.

360, when you’re at a shelter on the AT, legally, you have to, doesn’t mean I always have though. You have to understand the volume of people that camp at the designated camp sites on the AT (we’re talking thousands each summer). If everyone went in the woods, you couldn’t take a step without stepping in $H*T and seeing toilet paper bombs littering the woods everywhere.

While I agree it’s a good thing to give to charity. There is no real personal sacrifice involved in giving money away after you die. You can’t use it any more, what do you care? If they were to give it away while they were still alive, that would be really impressive. Again I think it’s great, there’s just no sacrifice involved.

340 – I have to question how many terrible bathrooms you’ve actually been in if you put Wrigley on your list. Wrigley bathrooms are bad by pro sports venue standards, but they are palatial in comparison to many of the other spots that have been mentioned here.

Actually – As of April 2013, 105 billionaires have signed the pledge. The 11 (Craft etal), I believe, are incremental. Also, some have pledged more than 50% – Billionaire businessman and real estate mogul Eli Broad and his wife, Edythe, have pledged to give away 75 percent of their fortune within their lifetimes.

O.J. Mayo is much better than a “middling” player in the NBA. He has averaged 15.5 points per game throughout his four year NBA career. Only a handful of players ever become superstars, but O.J. has certainly lived up to expectations. He is better than most players in the league.

You can’t wear mixed fibers in clothing or work on the sabbath lest you be stoned to death. Parable or truth? This is why religion is dangerous. Millions of people taking one book seriously with a million different interpretations.
