In a matter of minutes, Gary Henderson’s Kentucky Baseball team (22-8, 6-5) will take on LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. To put it politely, the Cats haven’t had a very good weekend, dropping the first two games of the series by a combined 19 runs. Also, to make matters worse, Henderson’s squad has fallen a spot in the SEC East standings (from 2nd to 3rd). Of course, these outcomes aren’t entirely shocking as LSU has been on fire this year. The storied Tiger program is experiencing an historic level of success this season, winning 29 of their first 31 games and outscoring opponents by a combined 141 runs.
While this weekend hasn’t gone according to plan for Kentucky, the squad looks to salvage the series today when junior LHP, Corey Littrell (4-0, 2.17 ERA), takes the mound. The game can be heard on WLAP-AM 630.
