Don’t get frustrated Jerome. Check the ball to him like a man, not a chump… and get dealt with.

The Junkyard Dog! How can you have a post about Jerome Williams and not reference his Junkyard Dog nickname?

Keep up the good work, Karl.

I thought Williams looked kinda like an ass going all hard on the kid, but in the end It looked like it was all in good fun and Towns earned it.

Karl Towns is going to be phenomenal for our Cats in 2014. Williams was only a mid level pro, even in his prime, but the fact that Towns went head to head with him and arguably came out on top at 17 years old is incredible. Can’t wait to see him in blue and white

Williams always had a game that depended on his athleticism. Sort of a lesser version of Gerald Wallace. I honestly not THAT surprised that Karl beat him. Karl is the kind of guy that could play for a long time in the NBA. Like, 10+ years easily.

    Matt,

Does it bother you that everything you post ends up on Rupp Rafters? Literally all they do is copy and paste stories from your board and act likes it’s news they discovered.

    5. While Williams was only a mid-level guy, he was known for his defensive prowess. If I’m not mistaken he was named to the All-Defensive Team one year.

Towns made mince meat of him, but in his defense he has been out of the game a few years.

Only the most elite defenders at the college level will be able to handle this kid one on one because of his size and touch. Most will play right up on him like that, but there is a bit of a difference between the body of the Junkyard Dog and your average college 4 / 5.

1 on 1 is not basketball. I will predict Towns will be GREAT at Kentucky but his performance playing 1 on 1 means nothing.

Very quick first step for a kid his size. Very good reaction time on defense. He will be a fan favorite for sure.
