He’s trying his best with this team but they just aren’t getting it. The one player that did went to the hospital tonight.

That sounded like a troll message but it’s not, I legitimately feel for coach cal. Go CATS!

No news is definately NOT good news!!! That sucks, but I’m more concerned about Nerlens and his future.
    I’ll be praying for him.

Florida’s crackerbox of a gym probably contributed to the injury. The stanchion looked a bit closer to the floor, and the sidelines are like their old “Alligator Alley” POS gym used to be. And why can’t they pad the stanchion properly?!?

Cal keeps saying we are young. Maybe he can do something about that! Hope Nerlens is OK.

Hood has actually looked pretty good the last few games he has gotten in I wish Cal would give him a chance. He couldn’t do any worse that Goodwin. At least he is engaged and hustling. One thing we know for sure, hes not just out there worrying about his draft status.

Cal is turning out to be a broken record…we are still a young team, we need to talk more, we were exposed on the physical side tonight, guess we need to have rougher practices…..WHAT???. What have then been doing each week in practice? Cal missed it bigtime with this team. With the exception of NN, he didn’t recruit anyone with “fire in the belly” Poythress is the Poster Boy for anti All American, anti 5* recruit. He is well on his way to being the biggest over-hyped 5* bust ever at UK.

At this point, mid-February, it aint happening. I think this year will change the way Cal approaches recruiting. Not that he won’t go for the best recruits, but he may not go for the #1 class every year.

Hey 14, Perhaps some years the classes are down a bit. Missing out on Shabazz & Bennett hurt some, but Cal is not going to get 1-5 every year. And some years the 10th best player might be #30 from the previous year. Goodwin, Poythress, WIljer, Stein & Harrow are all just solid up & down college players that could potentially be a great college team in a year or two, Problem is they all want to go pro in one year. Surely you did not expect us to go down to Gainesville and wipe out a team that could possibly win it all with the way we have played this year. Next year we will be back. With this injury who knows, maybe Noel is back with few others & maybe Randle or Wiggins comes and we are #1 again

I dictate it would make more sense to take the best possible players each year rather than not as good ones.

That s the difference between class and crass . Rick walks out after a miscoached disaster and Cal stands takes the blame and gives Billy’s team credit while supporting his guys . I am SO proud he is our coach !!!!!!!!

    15. You win The Most Idiotic post of the year award. He wins a title in his third year at UK and now he will change his recruiting philosophy. Yep, that’s it. I would take a title once in every three years and go thru a year Luke this one any day. Dumb-a$$ UL troll.

    13. You are correct on Hood. I think it is shameful, if not abusive, the way Cal has dissed Hood from the get go. At least he does hustle when he is in there, and I feel he has done well with the paucity of mins. he has been given. At least he has stayed loyal and pumped up with his little opportunity when a lot of other players would have pulled a “Poythress”.

Im with #10 on this. He always says we are young, this one in done stuff isn’t going to work. He has used this line for 4 years now and it gets old. Cal maybe coach them up and stop pushing them outta here after a season.

This year is fine and may pave the way for the most loaded team ever . There was once a day when it took players a couple of years to reach their peak . Like football players they may have to mature . Not every freshman is gonna set the world on fire . Cal has ear
    ned this pass.

BTW, Marvin Stone averaged 5 ppg and 4 boards in 2 years (and left to go to Louisville). I think Poythress is averaging 12/6 so far in 1 yr.

We ARE young and perpetually so if you want the very best players . That is the rules as they are laid out and Cal is getting the best there is and any fool who thinks they can manipulate that better is crazy . Shit , all his players going in the draft as freshmen mean he is getting some DAMN good players!!!!!! Maturity will be a problem but talent never under Cal . It would be wonderful to keep some of these guys into their 20’s don’t you think ???? They would mature physically exponentially

This team will not change the way Cal recruits. He has recruited guys in each class that he thought would stay around at least two years. When he recruited Marcus Teague there was no talk about him being a one and done player but a run to the championship can make guys jump before they are ready. If Teague would have stayed in school this is a completely different team right now. When Cal recruited Cauley Stein there was also no talk about him going in the draft but his name keeps coming up when the Draft rankings come out. If we have to suffer through this type of season after a championship because one or two guys jump that should have stayed I am fine with that. Also just in case any of you Damn Complainers forgot we won the Championship last year so stop your bitching and get ready for next year. Go Cats

32 so we just forget about the season because we won the title LAST year? Free pass? Not for me. Also there was lots of talk about WCS and Teague going pro after the first year. Now Orton on the other hand came out of nowhere. But Cal recruits like 4-6 players every year knowing a hand full will be gone after the first season. He wants to break an NBA draft record for most first round picks he says. that won’t win titles. We got lucky Jones/Miller/Lamb came back last year or we would have lost in the sweet 16. You gotta have some guys come back in order to make a run.

33 There was no talk for WCS or Teague going pro before they got on campus. I am not saying to forget about the season but this season we just got caught one player short. If next season they are having the same problems they are having this year then Cal should think about how he recruits. His system has worked for 3 out of the 4 years he has been at UK this year is exception not the rule.

So,,,,,some of you think we should not go after the best players available ? Tired of all the coaching rhetoric on this site. Most of these players are freshman and they are playing like it. As for coach Cal,,,,,how soon some of you forget Tubby and Billy Clyde. We are lucky to have him.

Coach Cal makes no excuses. I can imagine listening to Coach Rupp after getting beat like we did last night. He would be entertaining, and he, too, would congratulate their team.

My wife and I are praying that Nerlens does not have a serious injury.

Noel is the one main strength of this young team other than our excellent coaching staff.

Everybody on the floor last night was a top tier Division 1 basketball player. A few are just too young on our side. Billy can coach too, but I will take Coach Cal nine out of ten times.

Let us simplify, Harrow needs a scholarship taken away and/or transfer, he is terrible.
Goodwin has it, he just needs polished and gain b-ball IQ which will come after another year.
Poythress also has it, he needs to stay and get comfortable and also for his balls to drop, but he will get better for sure with an additional year.
WCS has great energy and promise, another year of strength training will help him greatly and another year will help his offensive development.
Noel is the only one that should leave because of no.1 pick projections.
The 3 aforementioned before Noel will be the miller/lamb/jones for next year and it will be great to watch.

ryan does not play like a “wildcat”…archie thinks a 3 on 1 fastbreak means he has 2 blockers…alex is coming along too slowly…kyle looks at the bench everytime he misses…start hood and polson…
