Warran Sapp told Miami players to slap the floor against Duke

In news that makes everything smile, Miami routed Duke last night, 90-63. In news that will make you crack up, former Hurricane football star Warran Sapp told the team to slap the floor to give the Dukies a taste of their own medicine. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Sapp, who sat right behind the scorer’s table, shouted at sophomore guard Shane Larkin to slap the floor towards the end of the game:

“I just heard somebody scream my name. It was Warren Sapp. He was like like ‘slap the floor on D.”

How did that make you feel, Coach K?

We are 12-6 with terrible losses to two teams that probably won’t make the tournament and not a single good win on our resume. Let’s hold off of making fun of other teams.

Why didn’t they flop as well?

We may be struggling but I was rolling on the floor with laughter watching this slaughter last night. #1 Even if your life sucks you can still enjoy the schadenfreude of the Jerry Springer show.

#3–better check with #1 before you make fun of anyone else….not!

Hey cartnal posers above we are defending champs, so we’re pretty good with whatever happens this year. On the other hand your team has been exposed and will not be winning the championship this year for the 27th year in a row, in fact i’ll bet you don’t even make it to the final 4. Nut hugger short shorts were all the rage the last time you won it. It was so long ago i’m 34 and don’t even remember it.

Hey Kanye, Maybe you need to be reminded of this, we are defending National Champions. And, we are THE University of Kentucky. We can make fun of whoever the heck we want to.

Hilarious! Every team should do that when they beat puke. Warren Sapp just made me like him.

how could Dan Schulman (sp?) NOT know that Miami was mocking Duke?!?!!

I know we have some bad losses but there is no dominant team this year. Both Duke an UL have very close games that could have gone either way. I still think this team can put it together by the end of the year.

SO…. DANG…. FUNNY! Mocking is so much more effective than trash talk. Kudos Canes! Classic and worth any heckling you will get at Cameron. I hope the Canes take the swag into Cameron and put another one on slow Plumlee and crew! They benefitted from really crappy Puke shooting, but did the right thing in making the very most of it. ACC looks crazy!

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Condoning this act is not something a fan of the sport should do. Whether you feel Duke deserves to be made fun of or not, it was unsportsmanlike behavior and showed little class. Yes, they annihiliated the #1 team, but shouldn’t that have been glory enough? I would have more respect for them had they shown some dignity in their accomplishment than to be act like smug and arrogant. You can be proud of your team without humiliating someone else. They score was humiliating enough.

Who cares if they mocked Duke and it’s unsportsmanlike! Duke celebrates almost every basket with chest bumps/jumping around like they just won a national championship. Didn’t you see Coach K jump into a players arms last week? They over-celebrate more than any team. Watch Chris Collins worthless ass jump around and celebrate some time.

to double00, you totally missed my point. It shouldn’t matter what Duke does. You should hold yourself to a higher standard and not intentionally humiliate another team, regardless what 4 letters are on that other team’s jerseys. And for the record, before you talk about chest bumps, let’s not forget T Jones and his chest pounding that became extremely obnoxious.

17- If you have a history of being obnoxious, I have no problems with your obnoxiousness being mocked when the opportunity arises.

    17) There are tons of players who are far more demonstrative than Jones ever was here. We’re just under a microscope, so if someone flexes, they’re showing off. If they do 3-goggles, they’re showing off. If they thump their chest, they’re showing off.

Seriously, watch any game, especially after someone dunks over someone. It’s called having fun and being proud of what you just did.

#22 just slapped, flopped, cried, complained to a ref., gave a gaze down the length of his ample nose at the commoners, slapped, put up a moving screen, and another… and another, flopped, swung him arms into a defender trying to get a call (Ryan Kelly classic), slapped, flopped and flopped. It was a CLASSIC move by the Canes! Anyone but a Dookie loves this!
