You’re looking at just a part of the crowd that showed up in Frankfort to get a glimpse of the trophy on its tour through Kentucky. It’s great to see so many people from all over getting to join in on the celebration, and not just the ones who made the trip to New Orleans or Lexington. Calipari has done a great job of sharing the love throughout the Bluegrass.
— In Midway, KY, where school was let out for the tour, the mayor pronounced it Kentucky Wildcat Day in the town. That’s not quite as inviting as a Shoney’s remodel, but it’s pretty darn close.
— Word from the tour is the crowd in Elizabethtown is insane and an absolute zoo right now. I’m told it’s the best turnout from the trip and they’re going crazy for a look at the trophy. We’ll have photos up shortly.

Still hasn’t gotten old yet.
— UConn’s Andre Drummond surprised no one when he announced that he’s entering the NBA Draft this summer. That was followed up by news that fellow freshman center Michael Bradley received his release and will transfer. Throw in Oriakhi’s departure and UConn is struggling to fill the paint next season. If you’ve ever want to be a big man in the Big East, now is your chance.
— Florida’s Bradley Beal will also declare for the NBA Draft. Billy Donovan can’t win with one-and-dones.
— Earlier I wrote about Shabazz’s father denying any influence from Adidas in the UCLA decision and I’d like to clarify my point of the post: I’m not bitter that Shabazz picked UCLA or surprised that a shoe affected a kid’s decision, that happens everywhere. I just don’t want to hear Ron Holmes acting like Adidas didn’t matter. We get it. It’s cool. It’s been done here. Just hush because you’re not fooling anyone. That said, best of luck to Shabazz out west; he’s going to be a star from day one.
