In a bit of news that’s a little happier than what’s been circulating the last couple of days, John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins were named to the John Wooden All-American Team. Voters selected 10 players of the 22 on the ballot and ranked them 1-10, with the highest vote getters making the list. The winner of the prestigious Wooden Award will be announced next week.
If Wall or Cousins were to win the award, they would be the first ever Kentucky player to bring it home. As it stands, they’re the only freshmen and only teammates on this year’s team. The pair is the first representation for the Cats on the Wooden Team since Tayshaun Prince in 2001. The whole squad is as follows:
|James Anderson||6-6||Jr.||G||Oklahoma State||Big 12|
|Da’Sean Butler||6-7||Sr.||F||West Virginia||Big East|
|Sherron Collins||5-11||Sr.||G||Kansas||Big 12|
|Wesley Johnson||6-7||Jr.||F||Syracuse||Big East|
|Scottie Reynolds||6-2||Jr.||G||Villanova||Big East|
|Evan Turner||6-7||Jr.||G/F||Ohio State||Big Ten|
