Wall and Cousins eligible for 2016 Olympics

When the Olympic games hit Rio in 2016, John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins could be parading the opening ceremony with Team USA as member’s of the basketball team. FIBA rejected the 2016 under-23 rule proposal¬†from David Stern and the NBA over the weekend, meaning your dream of seeing Wall and Cousins together again, representing America against the world, is not over yet. Cousins was a near-miss for this year’s Olympic squad and is on his way to being a top three American big man, while Wall will hopefully be one of the league’s premier point guards in four years.¬†That 2016 team could also include guys like Anthony Davis and Michael-Kidd Gilchrist.

1,445 days until the opening ceremony.

Hmmm, Cousins “nearly missed” the squad? I thought he did miss it.

Based on draft pick position and potential it’s possible to put Wall and Knight at Guards, MKG and Davis at forwards with Cousins at Center. Throw Rondo in there and six of the 12 are UK prods.

John Wall will not be on the Olympic team unless the Top 6 or 7 current PGs all die in a tragic plane crash. Are you serious, Drew??

Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, Brandon Jennings, Mike Conley, and Jameer Nelson. Argue against it all you want, but I’m not the one letting my blue tinted goggles cloud my vision. The fact is, at this point, these guys are better NBA point guards than Wall.

Parker is French, so that should move Wall up a spot on your list.
