Wall and Boogie…together again

Two of Kentucky’s most favorite recent sons will be having a little fun despite being locked out of their jobs, as John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will team up in ‘The Game of the Summer,’ a streetball showdown between Washington D.C.’s Goodman League and Los Angeles’ Drew League on August 20 at Georgetown University. The two summer street ball leagues are frequented by the pros, and the rosters for the event will be full of NBA talent with some street ball league regulars mixed in.  Here are the NBA players who will be playing in the showdown, which apparently could end up televised on ESPN:

Goodman League:
John Wall – Washington
DeMarcus Cousins – Sacramento
Tyreke Evans – Sacramento
Kevin Durant – Oklahoma City
Ty Lawson – Denver
Michael Beasley – Minnesota
Sam Young and Josh Selby – Memphis
Gary Neal – San Antonio

Drew League:
Brandon Jennings – Milwaukee
James Harden – Oklahoma City
DeMar DeRozan – Toronto
Dorell Wright – Golden State
Nick Young and JaVale McGee – Washington
Pooh Jeter – Sacramento
Craig Smith – L.A. Clippers

On paper, it looks like the Goodman squad has the edge, mainly because of Wall and Cousins and a little bit because of some guy named Durant. Still, this seems like something that would definitely be worth watching. Let’s just hope Boogie can keep from getting T’d up this time around.

The DC team would win an NBA Title or an Olympic Gold Medal. The LA team wouldn’t win the SEC West..

How is that even fair? Wall, Cousins, and Durant against Pooh Jeter? Just give Wall and Boogie the title. If there isn’t a title, have Dom Papa make one and drive it down here.

These rosters look similar to the talent disparity between the Cats and Cards this year. 🙂
