Vitale Picks The Cats In ’13 and Other Bits From The Net

All the pundits are beginning to weigh in on the upcoming basketball season and you know Dick Vitale wasn’t going let the opportunity pass him by. In this week’s Center Court newsletter which is sent out weekly to subscribers Dick had this to say:

I have already picked Kentucky as my favorite to win it all, cutting down the nets at Cowboys Stadium. John Calipari’s team was down last season, but he has built a young powerhouse. There is a lot more depth than last season’s squad. This team will undeniably be ready to shine.

The Cats are being picked by anyone and everyone to win it all, as they should be. But can we please just get to the games? Time is dragging on in regards to the ultra exciting football and basketball seasons .

Best Recruiter?

Over on Jeff Goodman’s blog the question of which coach would you not want to recruit against is raised. For the top spot Goodman went with none other than Coach Cal.

He’s at another level than everyone else. Seriously. It’s now an upset if he doesn’t get the top class in the country. Honestly, my 9-year-old daughter could work for Calipari as an assistant and still bring in elite talent. Calipari is that good in the recruiting game.

Sky is still blue. Grass still green.

John Calipari in basketball and Nick Saban in football–two coaches who are head and shoulders over their contemporaries.

The biggest piece of news in this story is that someone had sex with Jeff Goodman.

16 sorry but last year is over and the rest of the world wont be impressed with your watered down title for 3 decades…embrace being back outside the top 10-where you will end up I assure you-but thats where your program is historically anyway

16 – I’ll take a championship in four years under a coach than 27…. or 13 years for Quick Rick.

It’s blatantly obvious these posts eat away at the Derpy Birds.

Anyone see the YouTube of John wall throwing an oop to himself? Figured ksr would be all over that. Obviously fake but a pretty good marketing job for Adidas. It reminds of that commercial where mike Vick threw the football out of the stadium. Just drunk rambling a from a cat fan. Enjoy the night BBN

    17) Ill take being just outside the top ten as compared to the fall from grace that Pay Pal Cal had last year. But lets be honest with ourselves Rick is twice the coach cal ever thought about being. No way he turns a #1 recruiting class into a first round NIT exit to a national power like Robert Morris.

    10:35 am August 3, 2013 Permalink

#24 Rick would blow a #1 recruiting class. We all know it takes him 3 to 4 yrs to develop even the most talented players when he is lucky enough to get them. Anybody notice how Rick has his methods since Cal has arrived at UK. Instead of trashing Cal, UL fans need to thank him for putting a cattle prod up his a–.

    24) You UL fans are a trip. One bad year and all of a sudden Cal is the worst coach ever and UK is a joke? That’s like saying “I know you’re an “A” average student, but you got an “F” once so I’m going to say you’re a failure.” I guess that’s L1C4 logic for ya though.
