hell yes this is a meaningful rivalry. indiana’s been down for awhile now, but it wasn’t long ago that they were kickin’ our butts. i believe we’ll win tomorrow, hopefully by a wide margin. this will always be an important game for uk and iu fans. if not just for the “border war” stuff, but for recruiting (e.g. marquis teague).

2 – Sorry I don’t feel the same. I can’t even remember the last time I really cared about a game against IU, even when they were better than UK. That was more because UK had fallen than IU being a consistent top program again. IU will need to be one of the top programs in the country again for this rivalry to mean something. Right now they are no different than say a Cincinnati in terms of playing a close school. The only reason tomorrow’s game is getting a little hype is because the IU fanbase is delusional, classless, and obnoxious.

What a smack in the face to the Indiana fans who have been so hyped this week. This just shows that IU considers UK to be a rival but UK fans do not feel the same way about IU.

#2 and 10 – i was referring to the beat downs we took in the ’06 and ’08 seasons. squeaked by in ’07 season by five points i believe. i realize that iu’s program is nowhere near kentucky’s right now. i just remember being so sick watching us get our teeth kicked in those games. those were some awful years. but, i’m excited as hell for tomorrow and this team!

Yawn, hasn’t UK won 16 of the last 20? Drop IU, keep Louisville and UNC.

this has trap game written all over it even though kentucky’s the second best team in the nation

    21. Kentucky’s only the 2nd best team?! If you consider the Dallas Mavericks as the best since they won the Finals, then I might agree. I would agree that it might be a trap game in that we might be looking past lowly Indiana toward our big matchup with Chattanooga.

I guess you are right, the game was played and I guess if Cal can’t win every single year he will want to drop that series.
