How many reporters does USA Today have embedded with the Harrison twins? This is what, the 3rd guy who has released “insider info” about their recruitment? I think they’re going to UK. The last flavor of the month USA Today reporter said it would be UK.

    17) Even though everything leading up to this says they are going to UK? I don’t understand why everyone’s so sure they are going to Maryland. All signs were pointed to UK until this. Turgeon is going to see them tomorrow to try to save their recruitment!! But some reporter asks some leading questions and Tweets out some circumstantial evidence Maryland might have a slight chance, and it’s, “Oh well, they’re going to UM” YOU REALIZE THIS IS JOHN CALIPARI RECRUITING THEM AND NOT GILLISPIE RIGHT?!?!?

I may be way off but why does it matter what under armour wants while a kid goes to college? Because of college jersey sales? Twins can sign with under armour when they leave for the league. Doesn’t matter we wear Nike. John Wall selling Reebok shoes and we wear Nike. I don’t get it. Oh well, sounds like they’re going to Maryland because of it anyway. If so, I hear probation!

  37. Will S

There are four main reason why the Twins will pick Maryland.
    1) Under Armour.
    2) Lots of family in Baltimore, MD area (mom is huge on this).
    3) Harrison Sr has had a very close relationship with Turgeon for a long, long time.
    4) Maryland got an in-home visit on Wednesday to close the deal, and Turgeon was reportedly in Texas last week visiting the Twins as well.

This seems to me like an Under Armour/Family type of situation. They obviously want to be the flag-bearers for Under Armour for years to come in the NBA. Also, the mother and father have both insisted that family is more important than basketball. The mother actually said she doesnt care if they never play basketball again, that she wants “her boys to be safe.” An unknown Lexington, KY, or friends and family in/around the Maryland area.

Seems like a done deal to me. Twins go to Maryland.

Come to Lexington for 1 year to win a championship, build up your media hype to huge heights and become national stars, solidify high draft stock and then still sign with Under Armour once in the league. Under Armour should be pushing this plan as well if they know what’s best for them. Otherwise, they basically spend a year at MD and improve nothing, don’t build their brand, etc.

first off, this is doing exactly what they want it to do…build interest for their presser. 2. Give me Young, Randall and have Wiggins reclassify and I can care less where they go 3. This is what the NCAA gets for limiting coaches on visits and meetings with players during the year, an out of control AAU circuit and the sponsors that have already paid these kids parents and kids with apparel, expenses etc, showing up with the IOU

There’s no way these kids can burn Cal and the Cats…they’ve been #1 on our list for a couple years now and I think they know where they want to go…it’s their family, friends, AAU affiliates that want them elsewhere. I want to say I’m not nervous at all but I am! With Wiggins, Randle, Lee, Young, and others waiting to see what they will do…I’m pretty sure it’s a win-win for Calipari either way!

  52. J

If they do pick MD the NCAA needs to be all up in their colons as soon as the LOI is signed..Not really because they DID NOT choose UK as much as all the crap the dad has said about their ties with UA. That deal sounds extremely dirty to me.

This happens every year, we are the lead for a guy we get mixed signals towards the end. They try to throw everyone off at the end, give the school they are not going to go to some pub. Last season Nerlens was considered coming to UK until the day of his announcement and everyone thought he was going to Georgetown. Harrison Twins will be at UK next season. Their dad isn’t as dumb as he sounds sometimes.

The only thing that worries me is that Under Armour deal. You know that signing with Maryland guarantees them Under Armour contracts after they leave. So now they have to decide if they want to roll the dice to be the best of the best (UK), or take the sure thing and make big $$ right away without worrying. Plus they can be king at Maryland. They won’t sniff a title but they’ll be the best players by a mile on that team.

  57. Raazoul

All I know is Calipari has yet to miss on a single kid since being at UK. I don’t believe anyone ever stood a chance but UCLA with Shabazz plus his issues don’t help. 2013 will be the greatest class ever. Twins, Randle, Wiggins, etc.

The fact that they are hosting Maryland the day before they are announcing tells me that they are most likely going to UK. Cal had to do the same thing with Shabazz but lost in the end which was probably a good thing anyway. They’re just giving Maryland a courtesy visit imo.

It’s as if the twins have decided to come to Kentucky, but Dad is putting a full court social media press on them to make them feel guilty and choose Terps.
There has to be something to Dad’s obsession with UA. And WTF Jay Wright? He must be Dad’s agent in blasting BBN, maybe for not seriously considering him.
Yes, Cal has either impressed them and it’s done, or perhaps he tired of Sr.’s drama and backed off recently. Turgeon could be there to deliver/witness the LOI at Sr.’s behest. This whole thing, if Maryland, just doesnt pass the smell test.

I am starting to think the Harrison’s are going to MD, but here’s the thing, it won’t matter. I think if the twins don’t pick UK, then we get Young, Wiggins, Randle, and one of Gordon or Lee. Cal will find a competent PG (possibly a returning Harrow) to run the team. We will be the best team in the country next year, with or without them. It really does not matter what their choice is. Only reason for moving their decision date from Oct. 29th to Oct. 11th is that it’s the day before they have to go to one college’s Midnight Madness. And the change in date only make sense if they had decided to go to UK’s event. It would seem to me that The Twins can’t come to UK’s Midnight Madness on Friday, unless they officially commit to the Cats on Thursday. If they went to Maryland’s, they could say we went to UK last year. No one would blink an eye. If they come to UK that is two years in a row for them and there is no doubt they would become the first commits to the 2014 class. The key here is the change in the decision date. The dad is happy to play the game courting two great teams and holding MIke and UA in the balance. If he held the upperhand for UM, they would be going to that practice and could easily make their choice on 10/29 as they had said all along. While it is far from done, I think this plays stronger to UK’s case. We will know tomorrow.

I find it hilarious that fans of the Wildcats coached by John “Two vacated tournaments at two different schools” Calipari thinks that the OTHER school has to be cheating if they land recruits instead of UK. And with all the national tv contracts and blanket coverage by hundreds of national sports station, do any teams have minimal TV exposure anymore. Hell, almost every Gonzaga game was televised nationally last year.
UK fans, with their blind optimism and reverence for the only sport worth watching at their school, never fail to amaze me with their air of arrogance and self-superiority. You all are worse than the whacked-out State Penn football fans. As a fan of neither school but a reader of both school’s fan boards, I hope the Harrisons go to UMD so I can read all of the conspiracy theories proposed by the UK fans.

How much money have you seen Cal give a player? What’s that
Who has ever brought proof of Cal cheating? What’s that
It’s silence since Cal has never been in trouble with the NCAA never!

I suggest you seek medical help for your lack of logic and coherence (maybe you had a stroke or something).
As for who has brought proof of Slick Cal’s cheating, I guess the reason his tournament appearances at TWO different schools were, of course, the fault of external influences that Calipari didnt know about/had no control over. Don’t have to look too hard to see the common thread, number three will come soon enough.
