Three things have gone down since I left for my two day law trip….
— WKYT is reporting that Lexington police are through investigating the football incident that occurred last weekend. According to their report, no arrests were made and no arrests will be made in the case. This is very good news for all parties involved as the entire incident had taken on a life of its own on the internet. What went down was stupid, but at least according to the Lexington police, not criminal. That is good news for EVERYONE.
— Rick Pitino got good news today when the Louisville Commonwealth Attorney said that no charges will come from the Karen Sypher police claim that was brought last week. The Louisville Commonwealth Attorney said that the allegations werent credible and that the investigation was over. Sypher’s federal case however will still go on, which will still keep this claim in the limelight, but yesterday’s news is very good for Coach Rick.
— Our man Billy Kopp, the UK student, native Kentuckian and KSR fan, finished his run at the World Series of Poker yesterday by coming in 12th. It was a tough finish for Kopp, who had a huge chip lead early in the day and looked like a lock to make the final 9. He ran into some bad luck when his flush was beaten by a better flush, knocking him out of the tournament. Still its a great run for Kopp, who won 850,000 dollars and had the UK nation following his every mood.
— Finally, the seedings for BTI’s tournament were ridiculous. Keith Bogans as a 17 seed may be the dumbest seeding decision I have seen since we seeded BTI as a 2 seed in the KSR tournament. And he left out Nazr Mohammed, and put in Cameron Mills. I love BTI and he is a great guy…but sometimes he makes you just shake your head.
Hang in there….football fix coming.
