UPDATE: Fan Outfitter’s College Basketball Fan Contest

Good morning. Here, I’ll pour you a coffee, you look tired. How many drinks did you have last night? That’s it? Could’ve fooled me. Well, regardless, I’ve got good news.

Here is your first update on the College Basketball Fan Contest sponsored by Fan Outfitters:

In a post that crashed the server multiple times and saw comments flying in by the hundreds, keeping an accurate update became nearly impossible. Mistakes happen, but we made an effort to correct what we could. Sorry if we missed you, but I think we got a good majority.

Two days of basketball are now in the books, with some notable entries making early exits. That list includes Joe B. Hall, Kenny “Sky” Walker, JT (keep callin’ in buddy), Drew the Intern (keep answering that guy’s calls), Dom Papa (O! Canada), Rob Bromley, Terry Meiners, and someone who could possibly be the dunk-contest winning Brent Barry. Perrin Johnson and Tony Vanetti also bit the dust, but I refuse to recognize them. D*** it, nevermind.

Today will be a whirlwind of change for this baby, so I’ll get you another update by Monday. Remember, first prize includes a gift certificate for Fan Outfitters, cash from KSR, and your very own post.

Smell ess you is going down today bitches!!

I wish Chris Thomas listed social security numbers and emails for all the contestants. I have a great money making scheme that these good folks would be interested in. it involves some Nigerians and penis growth pills.

4–I LOVE those guys! I have a ‘dummy’ email account I use for product registration and whatnot, and once in a while I get one of those. I truly enjoy leading them on for sometimes months at a time with pages long emails about my fake life before they either figure it out or I break the news to them. I’m a simple man, who is entertained by making people who take advantage of stupid people look stupid.

    Oral Roberts Golden Eagles “Hubby”

That reminds me I was in the service years ago with a dude named “Red Green”. Actually saw his drivers license from Mississippi.

This 1 cracks me up too…

    William and Mary “Tribe”

Could it be that William & Mary was selected by “William & Mary Tribe”? Ya know, they live out near Paris, Ky. Oh yeah, the couple with the beat up mailbox. Thats right!

What the heck…. the night/morning post on this site doesn’t have any mention of Cal’s appearance at the MLK event. No break down, no live blog.

Things are slipping here with Jones gone. It was analysis of news surrounding the program, like that deal, which brought me to this site in the first place. Where has the scrunity gone??

11…Heck, even when Matt was full time he missed an overnight post sometimes. I actually think Beeze does a great job with those posts and hell, so we didn’t get 1. Again, it happened in the past too.

By the way Jones isn’t gone. He appears every once in awhile on a part time basis. CBS permits him to do so but the consequences of double dipping may hurt his eligibility from what I’m hearing from the NCAA.

Great, Spike Lee is coming to Rupp. Cal needs to realize racism works both ways and Spike Lee may be the worst of all of them. He’s like cancer.

Just curious, but if the friends of the blog can’t win, why didn’t you just let them be listed along with someone else? Something like 40 people didn’t get to participate because KSR had already reserved a lot of teams.

14..yeah, that was my only disappointment.

The blog was released at 0930 & so many teams already selected. Would of been nice to know that up front because many of us went thru a nightmare to select a team –only to find out it had been pre-selected. Then, we cursed…and went thru the entire laboring process again.

    That was my only criticism.

    14) I didn’t make that choice, but I think it just makes the competition a little more fun for those running it and also helped fill it up so that it didn’t take forever to fill up all the teams. Little did we know that people would be on edge to grab teams and blow up the server more than once, ended with over 1800 comments.

Its a free contest, for fun, but I totally understand what you guys are saying. It will be done better next time around, later in the season.

14/15–I hear ya. I refreshed for a half hour straight, and got through to the reply section three times. When I hit ‘Submit Comment’, it went to ‘Can not find server’ all three times, and my post never went through. That’s when I said screw it. Matt mentioned on the radio Thursday I think that the server just couldn’t handle it. Oh well. Nature of the Beast when you fire up the BBN.

Absolutely created fun and excitement. You can’t expect something like that to go smoothly the first time ’round. For all the unnecessary stress it caused me, I’d do it again right now. Half the fun was trying to get through. It’s like calling in a radio show to be the (x) caller. Line’s busy, hit redial, repeat…

21…table dance, thats what I’m-a-talkin’-about! But screw Matt. Lets just have a nasty, large bottom girl do one in the party we can throw for whoever the winner is. Not that i care who wins…just wanna see a big booty table dance.
