Hello Cat fans,
(Not) Mitch Barnhart here. Just wanted to check in and see how you guys were doing since, ya know, the coaching search is over and all. Did ya hear about Mark Stoops? Boy oh boy, am I excited! We are ready to do football the right way, guys and gals. Kentucky will be rocking come next fall with a new lifeforce behind the program and facilities. Just like our great university, Mark comes from a lineage full of tradition and success. Let’s all rally behind him and pack Commonwealth every game next year. Whaddya say, guys?

1. How did you feel about the firing of Joker?
(a) He deserved one more year!
(b) Sad to see him go, but it had to be done.

(d) I thought Heath Ledger was great as the Joker, I can’t believe they didn’t bring him back in the next one.
2. Were you happy that Joker coached the last two football games?
(a) Yes, his players and fans were able to give him a warm send-off.
(b) No, his time was at UK done.

5. What’s your level of satisfaction with the Mark Stoops hire?

2. A – For the players, not Joker. The 4th down play calls vs. UT ruined any sympathy I had.

4. A – We gave Stoops an early two weeks on other schools to form his “Plan” for UK.
5. B – Too early to give an excellent. But I’m excited for a brand new era after the last 10 years. Entirely new staff and hopefully one that will bring some top talent with them!

2. C: I knew my Kentucky Football would NEVER have a decent season with Joker at the helm. Therefore, who cares if he coached the two last games or not. I cared that they hired him in the first place.
3. A: At UK, we NEED a coach who can WIN and pull us where we have NEVER been in a LONG TIME: On top of the SEC EAST and working towards an SEC CHAMPIONSHIP. Petrino has the record, pedigree, and experience to do this. Instead, we get a DC without any HC experience??? Mitch needs to be fired right now for this pitiful hire.
4. B: Quick HIRE??? REALLY??? We had a huge jump on the other THREE SEC Schools that will be looking for coaches (UT, AU, UA)… and we will end up with the WEAKEST HIRE of them all. Wait and see… it’s all because MITCH does NOT know what he is doing.
5. D: We are still “KENTUCKY THE BASKETBALL SCHOOL”… because we DO NOT TAKE FOOTBALL serious enough to demand WINNING, nor hire a BIG NAME EXPERIENCED FOOTBALL COACH. Mitch missed a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to turn this around…

1B I was a BIG Joker fan and always will be. I really wish it had worked. In retrospect if be had left for the Oklahoma OC job a few years back it might have worked out better for him and us but that’s water under the bridge

1.B You always wish a man who has embraced BBN for 20+ years the best! He was one of a select few of African American coaches at a BCS school! I liked the fact that UK was one of the few schools to give a black coach a oppurtunity! I wanted him to be sucessful!
2.A It showed what a class act Joker is! He stayed on for his players! People want Petrino who could care less about players! Money, wins, and women come before student athletes as far as that mans concerned!
3.E Kirby Smart was my inital favorite! When I looked at it from a realistic stand point Mark Stoops was my guy!

I cant wait to hear those words “Its Football Time In The Blue Graaassss!

I’m a die-hard loyalist but these last three years have been painful (they s’posed to be SEC?), and frustrating, given all the progress Brooks made with the program. Here’s hoping the administration gives Stoops the tools he needs for success.

I am a Joker fan and wish him well. I think without injuries this season goes a lot differently (Take a look at what we did to Kent State and what they did rest of the season) but with the way it went he had to go. Glad he was allowed to coach the last two, just telling someone to leave never benefits anyone.
Now onto our new coach. I am very pleased that UK went with a defensive guy and someone who is somewhat familiar with the state of Florida as it is a very important state when it comes to recruiting. I am excited to see who he can get on his staff and if UK will finally gives some money to improve our football facilities.
