In case you didn’t recognize the figure in the video, that’s Shabazz Muhammad
As we continue to play the waiting game (that will undoubtedly go on for quite some time) in the Muhammad sweepstakes, fans everywhere are going to push for Shabazz to come to their school. It’s just what fans do. As you see in the clip above, the fans of the UNLV Derrick Jaspers are already making a push with borderline NCAA kosher methods. As you likely remember, a few years back the NCAA stepped in on some fan facebook pages surrounding John Wall. The influence from fans on the internet has always been a tricky road to travel – there is just no conceivable way for a program to regulate their fans. Even then, who is to say that rival fans aren’t starting fake campaigns to get their rival schools in trouble? There will likely never be a time when the NCAA forbids a recruit to attend a school based on fan interactions (short of attempted bribery,) but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them frown on videos similar to the one above.
And if nothing comes of it? Somebody get UKCats8Fan on it.
Also – UNLV fans, if you’re reading this? Shabazz likes Adidas. Nice try though.
