It is clear Calipari is being singled out. I loved Sandy’s April 11 letter.

What about players stats for those years. If a player was a freshman does he not get any credit stat wise for his first year? Does he get an additional year of eligibility if it doesnt? Obviously not, it just Calipari being singled out!

If he hooked up with your girlfriend, you’d brag to your friends about it.
He once got pulled over for speeding, but let the officer go with a warning.
He’s allowed to talk about Fight Club.
Big Foot thinks he is a myth.
King Leonidas led 300 Spartans to victory over 300,000 Persians, then ran into him.
He’s the life of parties he’s never attended.
Sharks have a week dedicated to him.
Every time he goes for a swim, dolphins appear.

He is the greatest coach in the world.

    John Calipari

Ten bucks on Sandy being NotJerryTipton! Those last three pages just show that the NCAA basically has nothing but “WAAAAH. We are the NCAA. Just do it. WAAAH.”

I seriously don’t think they researched anything from Sandy’s letter except finding bullsh*t responses to whatever they selectively wanted to quote.

You will never convince me that this thing with the NCAA and Calipari is not directly related to the fact that two athletes left the University of Washington for UK and Coach Calipari. Noting the new president of the NCAA is the previous president of Washington. It concerns me that they have UK in the crossheirs. Worse than the IRS. You can put them off for so long but in the end, they will get you. Dot every i and cross every t Sandy Bell.

The second letter is simply childish. You can hear the sarcasm and fuming in it. And the fact that a previous person had the audacity to use such sarcasm “You can count 1,000 wins as far as I care…”

The end of the letter sounds like a challenge. Perhaps we should make a list of schools not in compliance in their records and send it off to the NCAA?

I think true UK fans need to boycott the LHL and anyone who advertises in that paper until Tipton is fired! Is the LHL still owned by a Hoosier family? Wasn’t Tipton hired from the Evansville paper? If so he needs to go back to Indiana and sing Bobby Knights praises! The NCAA will gradually kill itself with its sanctimonious attitude and totally ridiculous stance on so many things. I like the idea of the “power conferences” leaving the NCAA and forming their own entity.

The NCAA is such a freakin’ joke. So not only must UK apologize, but the NCAA must approve of how they word their apology. Wonder what the NCAA would or could do if they got a letter from Lee Todd stating “see the quote from Michael Wilbon on ESPN, ‘go to he!!'”.

This brings to my mind the question of schools passing off Helm’s Titles as NCAA Titles- UNC and Kansas are two of them. They hang their Helm’s Title banners right next to their NCAA Title banners, with no distinctions between the two noted.

Surely if a “500 win” celebration draws the ire and wrath of the NCAA over this publicized quasi-innacuracy, they would take publicized misleading banners of their very own Tournament Championship even more seriously?

Im sorry to say I read every word out it.

I love the fact that Sandy sticks up for our coach, saying “whether you say they happened or not, they happened” and letting them know how they stated that the wins included the vacations. love it when she noted they have been singled out and gives expamples of how, and the NCAA first saying thats ridiculous then explaining why we are being singled out saying basically “we only watch the schools who have been on probation before”. what a load of horse crap.

we have to figure a way to get rid of the NCAA, and I think it can be done.

If Kentucky leads the charge, or Auburn, or Ohio State, Alabama, USC or any other major school that hates the NCAA and create their own league where they pay their players…imagine. all the top talent will go there and every school that can afford to will follow suite to the newly created league. the problem with the NCAA is not enough of the bigger schools are represented in the committees, and favoritism and corruption run amuck. i say someone from UK should start scheduling meetings with some other big time schools about leaving the NCAA.

my goodness…never has an organization deemed someone an “innocent victim” and then proceeded to vilify them…but that is the NCAA….the letter from Sandy Bell to the NCAA is well written and direct….the NCAA’s response is petty (and shys away from Sandy’s correct assertion that other schools don’t remark about their coaches vacated wins)…UConn has one of the lowest APR scores and their coach is in trouble for losing control of his program…but win the NCAA title (FT’s..ugh) and are spared their just rewards from the Bobby Knights of the world…proof is proof…from the first day coach Calipari took the job at UK, the STUDENT-athletes he has brought onto campus have been superb both on and off the court; going to class (save one who has since repented) and winning games has put the NCAA in an awkward position…they have relegated themselves to petty enforcers of arcane decisions (see Enes Kanter/Josh Selby) and patient forgetfullness (D.Rose got through the NCAA clearing house, but the NCAA refuses to accept partial culpability in their lack of due diligence and now want to complain about whether not an actual game played (factual) should have been celebrated with all the caveats explained in Sandy’s letter)…petty petty petty….under this blatant overzealous scrutiny by the NCAA it should be readily apparent to everyone that UK’s basketball program HAS to be squeaky clean…the NCAA’s last two “warnings” to UK have concerned Enes Kanter (and penalizing UK if he decided to leave after the NCAA banned him from playing) and disputing a FACTUAL game and whether it should count at a private UK ceremony (with all the attendant support information to note the inclusion of the vacated wins)…ha…Jerry Tipton needs to retire…mountain out of a mole-hill…and if this is the type of behavior to expect from the NCAA moving forward, it will make watching UK hoist number 8 that much more satisfying…and hopefully when that day comes, Tipton finds his press pass pulled

Well, I agree that Sandy B is a gem; and that the idiot non-sports-writer at the LHL is anything but a gem. I to think that the LHL should be avoided at all costs. It is not really fair to boycott the companies that advertise there, but I can tell you if my company was in Lexington, we would NOT advertise with the LHL.

However, if all he UK fans would just cancel the LHL, they would get the message.

That is easy for me to suggest from out here in Wonderful Colorado; however, I have sent them a letter stating that I will never again after today get on their web-site as long as Jacka$$ Tipton is there.

If enough of us do that, it will get rid of him.

I also think that the University should revoke his press credentials….for life! I’m thinking that he may just be worse than little bobby knight….and I did not think that was possible.

  59. Jaybruce

someone might have pointed this out, but I was too lazy to read the responses. But the NCAA is throwing a massive hissy fit about not being able to count. Then claiming that Derrick Rose was the leading scorer on memphis’s 2007 team. When in fact Rose averaged 14.9ppg, and CDR averaged 18.1. Last I checked 18.1>14.9, but maybe thats me. I realize its minor and petty, but still. I found it very amusing that this entire thing was about an accounting error, and yet they were guilty of doing the exact same thing… Just pointing it out.
