— The biggest game of Jack Michael Martinez’s career is just two hours away. The Dominican Republic plays Argentina at 5:00 PM on ESPN 3. It’s the final game of the group stage before the teams get to the real deal Saturday in the semifinals. If the DR wins on Saturday, they will advance to the 2012 Olympics for the first time ever. Today’s game will only determine seeding for the semis.
— We’re just hours away from the debut of Randall Cobb on the NFL stage. I’m praying the Packers win the toss and elect to receive so Cobb will be the first player to field a kick and score a touchdown in the 2011-2012 season. Go Pack Go! Go Pack Go!
— One of Kentucky’s 2012 basketball targets is going ham on the football field. Willie Cauley, the 6-foot-10 center from Kansas, caught eight passes for 122 yards and four touchdowns for his Olathe Northwest Ravens over the weekend. Cauley is a guy we think could be the first commitment to Kentucky in the 2012 class. Scout.com has him as the No. 10 center and he’s currently unranked as a tight end/receiver.
