UK Specialists Have a New Specialty

There haven’t been too many consistent things about Kentucky Football since I’ve been alive. #BBN rarely knows what to expect from their football team, but they do know they will have a damn good Punter. There is somewhat of a mystique behind Punter U; no one really knows why they are so good, or what they do on a day-to-day basis. I discovered much of their daily routine on Media Day during an interview with Landon Foster. They aren’t always “with” the team, but they are still out there everyday practicing, with a personal sheet of goals they must accomplish by the end of the day (punt it 30 times and record the distance, make FGs from a variety of distances, etc.). That’s the boring answer. The fun answer can now be found via the new Twitter account @UK_Specialists.

The new Twitter account was discovered by most when Pat Towles Tweeted out the handle on ‘his only Tweet from camp’. Even though they are “with” the team for the entirety of camp, they have a little more free time than others. Landon Foster described how the Twitter account came about, “We decided to give the team a little comic relief.” Camp can be grueling for most, but Coach Peveto doesn’t see anything wrong with  a little “good, clean fun”. Peveto has been a great personality thus far, with the Specialists saying today that he may be involved with a few Tweets in the future. Here are some of the funniest they’ve produced thus far.

Kickers and Punters aren’t real football players. They’re just different.
