UK set attendance records last season

Kentucky led the nation attendance for the seventh straight year and the 16th time out of the last 17 years. An NCAA record total of 885,953 fans watched 40 games this season in Rupp Arena, breaking Syracuse’s 1989 record.
Calipari tweeted that UK might shatter that record again in the near future.

BBN Baby !!!
Best fans. Ever.
So we played all 40 games at home this season? No wonder we went 38-2!
and I didn’t get a chance to go to a single game, did go to the blue/white scrimmage though
Check out wildcatnation.net if you’re looking for a UK Sports Forum. Go Cats!
Wow! Great Fans! Great Program!
We didn’t play 40 games in Rupp Arena
We didn’t play 40 games in Rupp Arena
Wait….if we played all 40 games at Rupp…and lost two…the home streak is dead!! NOOOOOO.
BTW if we do lose 2 games at home this season I’m going ahead and saying Drew jinxed us
Awesome.
Wonder if this will make an ESPN headline that will be cemented on the home page? (tongue-in-cheek)
40 games in Rupp? Not even Louisville or Duke play that many home games.
11…Dang it. You completely spilled the beans on what Crean’s IU goal is.
Rupp commented on places to play basketball and about attendance after Memorial was built:
“We built one down here, of course, and everybody’s acquainted with that. Unfortunately, it isn’t big enough. We sold every ticket for it the first night, and every ticket’s been sold for every game since then, and what will be big enough for the University of Kentucky?”
on what Creans IU goal is…wtf? lol Damn, where’s my moonshine?
Great quote, Roland.
BOOOM!!!! INVESTIGATE THAT THAMELTOE!!!!
ridge, lol you are not alone. What I mean and what I type doesn’t always come out like it should. we know what you meant.
this attendance banner is yet another sign of our dominance.
If I were a season ticket holder, I’d be pissed. I’d be demanding to know why I only got tickets to about half of the games played in Rupp last season. And it’s amazing how TV made half the games look like they were played in other places.
Rupp went on to say in the very next words: “What’s going to be big enough for Indiana? What’s going to be big enough for Purdue? Well, no one knows.”
Got a link if need it.
Love watching some Samford, Lamar, Radford, etc. Keep the home opponents easy, otherwise we’d riot trying to get in to see some competitive games.
Joe Fan is right on. The ticket package is pretty damn expensive (when you count the mandatory “contributions”)so who wants to watch a team that has a chance to beat us?
The team that doesn’t exist had 809,000 plus for second place. Credit is due there also! Crap on chewbaca row.
885,953 fans???? Where does the math come from on that? Wasn’t there only 18 or 19 home games? Even at 20 games that would be
44,297 fans per game.
23. I think this takes all 40 games, home and away and gives us an overall total. The only way the numbers could work which would include the final for.
