As expected, Calipari and UK made the cut for another big-time prospect. This time, Kentucky made the elite eight list for 2014 star Jahlil Okafor. The Cats are joined by Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State, and Ohio State. This kid is the real deal – ranked number-one-overall by most recruiting services, as you’ll see below. Okafor is very close with Karl Towns and has also expressed interest in being a package deal with Tyus Jones.
Jahlil also tweeted this bit about UK versus KU. Not sure what it means, but we all know how the last battle with KU for a recruit went:”For all you geniuses out there… It would be Kansas before Kentucky if it was in alphabetical order.. “Technically” Thanks though.”

The UK Women’s Hoops team now has 2 players from Chicago’s Whitney Young HS—Janee Thompson and incoming freshman Linnae Harper, both McD’s All Americans. Hope they put in a good word to Okafor!

Actually, it’s only “mostly” in alphabetical order. He listed KEntucky before KAnsas. Perhaps he is mistakenly revealing his preferences. We should totally assume this means he prefers Kentucky…
