UK offered Marcus Lee last night

John Calipari was in Antioch, California last night for an in-home visit with 2013 power forward Marcus Lee. Cal and the Lee family discussed Marcus’ potential and how UK is the best place to reach it.

“Their biggest point is that Marcus doesn’t even know how good he’s going to be,” Marcus’ brother, Bryan Lee, told Rivals.com. “They feel like they have been through this process before with guys like Marcus and that they would be the best fit to help him develop into the best player that he can be. They told Marcus that they believe 100% he has the talent and that they want to show him the direction.”

Calipari gave Lee a scholarship offer before heading back to Lexington, where Marcus will visit next month for Big Blue Madness.

He’s down to Kentucky, Louisville, and California.

Twins, Julius, Wiggins are all locked up plus 2 of 3 from Gordon, Lee and Young. If a couple boys stick around from this year that team will be the best team ON PAPER of all time.

    2. Unless he wants to stay close to home to play in front of family and friends.

This kid is a young Alonzo Morning, 6’9 long arms pretty thin now but has the frame to gain weight and still maintain his elite athleticism. Shot blocking has been a key asset under coach Cal has this kid would continue that tradition. Runs the floor like a deer and can jump out of the gym he is limited offensively but with strong guard play (Harrison twins) and his rebounding ability he can get bucket too.

#4 He kind of reminds me of Sam Perkins. He was the same height and he has long arms. Great Player!

I think it’s Cal, UK, UL in that order. He’s from the west and Cal just picked up Jabari Bird and they are in good with a couple other 5*’s. IMO, the twins go to Maryland and Wiggins doesn’t reclassify.

Why do I feel like the 2013 class isn’t going to be what we all thought it would?

I don’t see why this would be an indication that other recruits have fell through. He’s a top 20 recruit with the possibility to be higher. Why not try to get him.

Vitale probably bet Cal he couldn’t win #10 with four Power Forwards and a Point Guard…. “Kentucky Effect”

Was offering Lee the plan all along or did the staff feel that the Randle visit did not go well?

He is the best center in this class for what the Cats do and expect from the 5 position; block shots, run the floor, rebound, finish above the rim. He is a true center just needs to add weight. PG Harrison SG Harriosn SF Wiggins PF Randle C Lee. 10

    1) “Twins, Julius, Wiggins are all locked up plus 2 of 3 from Gordon, Lee and Young” Really? When did they all commit?

13 – From everything I’ve read the Randle visit went great (see earlier post by Ally I think). Cal may be starting to worry that WCS is developing much faster than anticipated and may not be around as long as everyone thought.

He will play the 5 for us. If he gets an offensive game watch out because the kid has some freakishly athletic skills. He’s like an all state volleyball player or something so jumping and blocking, jumping and blocking that’s all he does. And if we get the twins, wiggins and randle then jumping and blocking is all we will need him to do. That starting 5 with Cauley, Wiltjer, Hood off the bench. 3 peat.
