It was obviously Kentucky. The hats from the other schools look like he got them off the clearance rack. He spent as little as possible on the ones he wasnt gonna wear.

The split second I saw those four hats, I was 100% sure it was going to be UK. Those other three hats look like someone bought them at the truck stop down the road.

So pumped he picked UK!!! Let’s combine this class with some returning players and dominate! They all seem like they have good heads on their shoulders and can handle being in the spotlight. Also, does anyone else think Randle is the best dressed recruit ever? I’m liking the grey vest lol.

Randle impresses me. He seems wise beyond his years. That’s really good to see given how immature this years team was.

Just think about how much they’ll get out of scrimmaging next year before they lace em up against anyone:

    An Harrison vs Harrow
    Goodwin vs Aa Harrison
    Poythress vs Young
    Lee vs Randle
    Johnson vs WCS

sprinkle in Hood, Wilt, and Polson for breathers

    2:55 pm March 20, 2013 Permalink

And b4 anyone curses me, I’m not stating the group on the left will be starters over anyone on the right, just spreading the wealth between the 2 groups…..

On top of his obvious athletic abilities, he sounds like a very polite, well-spoken young man. His momma raised him right. Good luck to him in his pursuit of #9 and the promising life ahead of him.

I honestly think we will be starting 5 freshman next year

    1- Harrison
    2- Harrison
    3- Young
    4- Randle
    5- Johnson

The only changes i could see from that group are

    3- Goodwin
    5- WCS

Unless Poythress really develops his ball handling ability in the off season and can create his own shot with having to lower his shoulder.

It’s kinda sad actually, that when he grabbed that UK hat this 62 year old man yelled so loud that my wife ran down stairs and thought the house was on fire. I’m not proud of it, but like I said in another post after the game last night his verbal to UK dulled that sting all together.

11, Imagine if one of two CRAZY things happened……

    1. Wiggins joins that group
    2. Noel joins that group

That would make this offseason the LONGEST offseason in history. Anticipation is already crazy.

I get giddy like a school girl when I think of the run&gun that could happen next year if we play a small team

    Pg-Harrison 6’5″
    Sg-Harrison 6’5″
    Sf-Young 6’7″
    Pf-Lee 6’9″
    C-WCS 7’0″

Then flip the switch and go half court on them

    Pg-Harrison 6’5″
    Sg-Young 6’7″
    Sf-Poythress 6’7″
    Pf-Randle 6’9″
    C-Johnson 7’0″

Not to be a buzz kill but Johnson isn’t all that good. Slower, not great hands, not very quick off the floor. More of a plodder. If he stays I would think WCS would beat him out for the starting spot, his speed and shot blocking will be a much better fit with the Harrisons and Randle.

#26 randle won’t be coming off the court very much. He’s a monster. Just think UK may have ten players dafter in the first round if the majority of boys come back for next year. Playing with this team can do nothing but help draft stock. Especially WCS. Lets get it boys!!!!

That leaves 1 open. Unless I’ve gone crazy, Hood won’t count against us since he will be a redshirt senior and already accounted for 4 years of scholarships

    3:20 pm March 20, 2013 Permalink

Well we have 13 on the roster right now, take away the 4 walk-ons scholorships the two seniors and Noel and then we will have just enough scholarships to accommodate these recruits. I’d still be surprised if someone else doesn’t go or transfer. Alex and Willie I think were still close to being lottery, they obviously both need to stay in school here or somewhere else but who knows what they will do. The allure of money is pretty strong, I won’t be surprised if one of them leaves. Although if they do come back then they really need to step it up and not bog down the team. There are a lot of habits that I don’ want them to pass on to our freshman. However if we do keep them all except Noel, that is going to be a crazy deep team.

#30. Wrong I’m from FL and have seen him play in person a few times, it will be nice to have a back-to-basket on the block scorer (especially after this year), but he could easily just be crossing half-court most of the time when the other team is already taking the ball out of the net.

This does help take a little sting out of the season but not to be Debbie Downer on this great day but we need only look back 1-year to what was being said about our recruiting class so try to keep expectations in check. Talent wise we will be in great shape but I worry if there is a player that will lead this team? It is hard for a veteran to lead unless he is playing considerable minutes and I just don’t see that happening. Let’s enjoy next season and hope that they can adjust better than the previous class.

    40. Could be a high substitution roster like Matthew Mitchell does with the ladies. Then, all you would need is one of the guys from this year to have a really bad taste in his mouth and tell the guys what’s up. That and Andrew Harrison seems like a leader. You could have a young leader like MKG and a voice of reason.

40 – This year’s overall freshman class was never considered to be very good and the only #1 player at his position we got was Nerlens. Next year’s class is considered to be outstanding and we have the:
    #1 point guard Andrew Harrison,
    #1 shooting guard Aaron Harrison,
    #1 power forward Julius Randle,
    #1 center Dakari Johnson,
    #2 small forward James Young
and a walking triple double power forward/center in Marcus Lee (he had at least 10 games this year where he scored double digits in points and had 10 or more rebounds and blocks).
The Harrisons are bulldogs who know how to lead a team and both can shoot and penetrate and either finish well or dish, James Young is very coachable and can shoot from beyond the 3, is great at penetrating to the basket and dishing to the open player, Randle IS the beast we all hoped Alex would be, Johnson is very powerful and won’t be shoved around under the basket and Lee can block and rebound with the best.
Depending on which current players Calipari allows to come back, next year’s team is going to be one for the ages. The practices alone will have the NBA scouts salivating.

The rules of the game of basketball will need to change with this class. There will be 2 basketballs in use at the same time. Brother! Its not possible for the 5 guys(Starters!!) in this class to each touch the basketball in any offensive set. I bet it does not occur all next year, not even in practice. Is there such a thing as having too much talent??I do not think we will have any problem with”court assertiveness” with this group. A lot of “beef” on the court. The nick name for this group should be the”manhandlers”.The 5 star recruits on this team must outnumber the 5 star recruits on the top ten teams combined I do not know how the coaching staff is going to handle all these egos. I also hope the NCAA is not looking at UK for recruiting violations( I guess I am a “glass half empty” kind of guy.
