UK football to open on a Thursday night
It’s been known for a good bit that the Cats would open the season in Nashville against their favorite cousin from Bowling Green, but the date was finally set yesterday for Thursday, September 1st. The weekday debut of Operation: Win 2.0 will take place at LP Field and was bumped to Thursday due to Tennessee State’s game with the Southern Jaguars. This could give the Cats some flexibility for picking up some better TV coverage, but it’s really going to mess with Drew Franklin’s drinking schedule.

My guess is it will be a good event for UK fans in Western Kentucky or the southern part of the state. So, it is a great idea from that standpoint. That said, I don’t think too many people will travel from Central Kentucky to see us play WKU on a weeknight in a game that should be nationally televised. Even for me, this one is going to be hard to justify.
4 & 10 – I don’t know, I’ll probably be taking Friday off and spending a 4 day weekend in CATSville, Tn!
