Marshall must be pissed… We beat them out for every player it seems like.

Well put #1. I wish the young man the best. Marshall is a long way from the SEC…just saying.

Marshall is a long way from SEC football but not a long way from UK football.

Once again we get the top notch players to commit. Why dont we just join the MAC, we recruit MAC talent for the premier conference in football every year. Thats one of the reasons we are in the celler every year.

#4, I agree!! Look at the schools we compete against. Geez!! Notice it doesn’t say “the player also had offers from Florida, LSU, or Alabama”. Just a bunch of mid-major programs who already suck. No wonder UK is a consistent SEC bottom-feeder program.

He’s actually rated by rivals as a high end three star***. Not that bad of a get when you look at his size. How many of our true talents actually held that many offers from BCS conference schools? And how many times have we had highly rated commits that held tons of offers who turned out to be worthless? Wait til you see them on the field first, but I for one think this kid is one of our top 3-4 recruits so far in this class.

Google passing leaders and see who is ranked No.1 so far this year.

I hope we get other players that Marshall is after!!!

…is why we cannot compete in the SEC. I’m sure these are fine young men, but they are not SEC quality players. You cannot complete in the SEC with these types of players. Maybe a few sprinkled through your roster, but you have to have some 4 & 5 stars. And I thought Joker was a good recruiter. I guess he would be, for Marshall or FIU. Best way to grade recruiting is see who we beat to get them. You hardly ever see us getting a player that also was wanted by Florida, UT, South Carolina, etc.

i bet marshall wishes we were recruiting sec players and leave the mid major level players to the mid major schools.

this caliber of recruiting is why we’ve only average around 3 wins/year in the sec for the past 60 years. i hope he turns out to be a real nugget. unfortunately it takes many nuggets from end to end to compete in our league

    @#6 Heath

Yes, he may be one our top recruits…a three star…with no major offers…now go sit in the corner, and think about what you said.

Mike Summers is the best coach we have on staff.
If he thinks a kid can play, then he can play.
The previous 3 classes have had OL that big programs made a run at late, well after we had offered. Luckily kids like Watson stayed commited and fortunately kids like Kenarious Gates flipped.

My guess is that a kid like him, who works hard and gets good coaching (a stretch) can make us competitive with most of the folks we play, and truth be told, that’s good enough for most UK fans.

Averaging 3 SEC wins a year is competative? The slavery of low expectations has you deeply in its thrall. Look, I don’t blame the kid. I think all our kids are great. But they come here knowing that we were their best offer, almost no one else in our league offers these kids. So they start out at a disadvantage already. And out of the kids we get 1, 2, maybe 3, turn out to be sleepers. The rest just don’t cut it in the SEC. When you add incompetent coaching on top of it…well, you get seasons like we’re having this year. And last year, and the year before that, etc, etc, etc…

He must be unaware of what’s happening here. He’d be better served to go to one of the other teams and be competitive than here and be a punching bag.

We are supposed to get excited – Look who our competition was! This is why we are in the bottom of the SEC – And Joker is such a great recruiter, for who, the other SEC schools who will continue to beat the Hell out of us –

How can we get the SEC type player with fans negative support. I’m glad to have & surprised we have 14 commitments the way some of the so called fans are. You don’t have to like losing, but try to show some support to the new guys. We will start winning soon. Go Big Blue!!!

Hilarious..no wonder we suck. Louisville is competing with teams like alabama, lsu, miami, ohio st. for players and we are going up against FIU, Marshall, etc. What a joke.

Not defending Joker because I think we need a new coach too but I would like this recruit under any regime. For starters this guy is an O-linemen which is the most redshirted position in football. This means he is likely at least 2-3 years away from playing. He also has good size at 6’5″ and 285. With an additional 25 pounds of muscle over the next 3 years, he will have SEC size. As a 5.6 Rivals rated 3-star from talent rich Florida, there is a lot to like.

Also, this guy had interest from multiple SEC schools, we just happen to be his only SEC offer. Had we waited for other SEC schools to get in the mix, we probably don’t get him.

#13 If Summers is such a great coach why is our OL been subpar the last 3 years. Joker made a huge mistake firing Higgis. #
#20 way can’t you get it. This real fan stuff is about ridiculous. We are competing with the Mac for recruits for Pete’s sake. You can not build your program like this. Now if you have a good class and then see a kid you think can be good. Well then that’s great,I surly hope your not so clueless you think all the other SEC can’t judge talent and Joker knows more then all of the SEC schools. If your such a TRUE fan ,better then the rest of us ,then you should be at every woman’s bb game Mitchell has made them a winner. You should go to the rifle meets, he’ll since your such a TRUE fan you should go to the tennis matches. No you pick and choose your sports just like the rest of us.
You aren’t a TRUE fan you are just a Joker homer who is satisfied with losing. ‘we will start winning soon’ do you think we have really been burning it up in that category the last 3 years. Well maybe we will start winning when we get a compitant coaching staff who recruits SEC talent not MAC talent to play in the SEC. Good grief!

#4 we can’t move to the MAC. If we did we’d then start stealing EKU’s recruits!

Im not saying against the kid Im sure he is a much better athlete than I or many of us will ever be, but should we be recruiting against Marshall, Jacksonville, and Florida International? This is why we are bad in football. We are in the SEC not Conference USA. Simple as that.
