Even the dog has swag. Let’s get you some notes — quickly, because I wrote a longer one and it magically disappeared from the site. #WordPressProblems
— Our very own Thomas Beisman dug up an interesting stat about the upcoming Kentucky-Louisville game. Kentucky and Louisville have never played while both teams were ranked in the top five. If Louisville can get past Memphis this Saturday, it should set up a New Year’s Eve matchup between two top five teams. Rupp will be rockin’.
— The fine gentlemen over at CBSSports.com gathered around the CBS fireplace last night and compiled their college basketball “dream teams.” Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made two of the four starting fives, Anthony Davis is on one, and Jeff Goodman has MKG coming off his bench. Had they been able to use more than one UK player, the dream would’ve looked a lot like this.
— While Chuck Hayes is in Sacramento getting familiar with his new team, the Kings blog on the Sacramento Bee ran a featured called Chuck Hayes on Chuck Hayes. Here’s an excerpt from Chuck on his defensive philosophy:
“I’ve got legs of a defensive lineman, but I can move them pretty quick like a guard. I just try to use it to my advantage. I figure most 7 footers, big guys, if you make them take more than one or two dribbles than it’s to your advantage. You don’t see too many 7 footers with a mean crossover or the handle of a point guard. So if I root them out away from the basket and make them take dribbles, more than two dribbles, I feel like I have the advantage and on the second dribble I’m going to attack his dribble.”
Anyone else excited about the Kentucky big man duo in Sac-Town?
— Congratulations to Kentucky wide receiver La’Rod King, who became a father this morning. La’Rod tweeted the news earlier today but didn’t give us any indication as to if it’s a boy or a girl. If it’s a boy, I vote for naming him “Webeattennessee King.” If it’s a girl, I vote for “Webeattennessee Marie King.”
— On today’s radio show, Matt took a call from a local Playboy model about a blog post on KSR earlier today. Enjoy…
