Wow. We’re just like Cub fans. Wait ’till next year. Has anyone else pointed out that UK lost to a team that had just played a 9 oclock game on Thursday, while they hadn’t played since Tuesday?

Drew Diener said on his show this morning that all 3 freshmen are gone after the season. He spoke with an NBA scout at the uofl/cuse game. The scout said its common knowledge among scouts that all 3 are entering the draft andLamb wants in the draft more than the other two.

Impressive. But Knight had multiple 30 plus point games. I’d still love for knight to come back so we can run a two pg lineup. Teague is a great rim attacker and Kight can flat out shoot the ball.

3- Was wondering the same. I haven’t seen him taking a lot of jump shots in any vid. But he will share the back court with Brandon Knight, a great jump shooter, so it’s not that big of a deal.

5- Yeah right… This season is NOT over. We lost games. More than I was expecting. But we have great players and we have to keep faith. Negativity is useless. The past is the past, there is no point telling how much we sucked over and over. Let’s win the next 5.

I don’t think Knight is gone…don’t think he wants to go…Christ, he could graduate in 2.5 years probably. Any kid that takes Calculus as a freshman is pretty damn smart.

Lamb may want to go but he won’t get drafted high at all if he doesn’t start playing up to his potential soon.

  15. Rich
    3:24 pm February 13, 2011 Permalink

Lamb is not on any draft boards that I’ve looked at…Knight is slated as late 1st round. Winning a championship next year could boost that I’m sure.

  16. Fishersblue
    3:26 pm February 13, 2011 Permalink

Lamb and Knight may be in two different situations. Lamb may want to go but likely will not be a first rounder. Kmight may want to stay but will definitely be a first rounder.

Lamb is NOT a first round draft pick. Anyone think he would leave Kentucky knowing he’d be a 2nd round pick or worse? Surely Cal would intervene and help him make the right decision.

That’s funny, most tard fans think Diener is a UK fan. In fact he named his son Caywood (middle name). He also used to have a UK sho in Lexington, where he admitted he was a UK fan. Good call smart guy.

If Barnes, Selby, or Irving return for another yeas and all three of our freshmen stars turn pro, it will drastically change how I perceive the team. No more, “oh, they’re only freshmen, they’ll get better”. If Coach Cal can’t get them to stay for over one year then that one year had better be outstanding from the get go. My patience is already starting to wear thin with having to rebuild each year. Come in and win big. That’s what the guys cal brings in have to do; obviously they don’t care about the name on the jersey, just the paycheck at the end of the year. Coach Cal is great, but its starting to feel like Kentucky is only recruiting mercenaries. Come for a year, if you win great, if you don’t then don’t sweat it, the NBA will come calling at the end of the season.

As of this moment, no way is Lamb a first round pick. Too many good players ahead of him. Of course that could all change. It’s up to Lamb to control his own destiny. Mr Lamb, you want to be a first rounder? Then start playing like it. That includes playing defense on every possession.

#19 have you ever even listened to Diener? he is a clown. he is what they pay him to be. he almost zero knowledge. he speaks without ever having sources. he just speaks. he is a louisville fan now, because thats what they pay him to be. He would be IU fan next year if thats who paid him. Drew Deiner is a puppet.

So it should be like this next year.

    pg-Teague
    sg-Knight
    sf-Gilchrist-Liggins??Miller?? Idk
    pf-Wilther
    c-Davis
Reserves. Lamb, Vargas, Poole?? And would we have room for one more recruit LACY!

#20-couldn’t agree more. i love it when i hear commentators say, well, their only freshmen, they’ll get better with more experience. not at uk. one and done baby! the only way we’ll ever make the final four or win a championship is if someone tells these guys that they’re not ready for the nba, and they stay for two or three years. if these guys are so damn good and ready to lock horns with the likes of kobe, lebron, stoudamire, howard, etc., then how come we didn’t win it all last year and can’t win in the sec this year? i love this team. i love these players. but, they’re not ready yet! jones can’t shoot a 20 foot jump shot and can’t go to his right. and, he’s only 6’8″ with not much jumping ability. where does he fit in in the nba? not on the wing. not down low on the block either. kind of like patterson with less strength, heart and shooting ability. today’s mock draft boards and one and done mentality is ruining college basketball and it’s killing our program. a two year minimum rule in college would change everything.

We do not deserve to get this point guard.
1st. He is not a Ky boy let alone an Eastern Ky Mountain Boy.
2nd. We need to get us a real coach. You know one that will bring us in all those 4 year players that can graduate and move on with the rest of their miserable lives right here in KY. while I didn’t like that Pitino fellow when he was here, now it looks like he is the best coach in the game today.
3rd. We need to support our school but more importantly the local media and especially Pat Forde & Jerry Tipton. They have both reached the top of their professions by using the highest ethics while providing us with the most up to date information on how our great university is failing this proud commonwealth.
4th. We need more coal, but not just in power plants. I am hoping that the legislature will pass a law that mandates every new home will be heated with coal. This will help our state, our university, and provide new employment opportunities for coal miners, salesmen, shovelers, ash spreaders, along with future opportunities medical professionals dedicated to curing lung diseases.

No – this is the real old-school and I just now entered this thread. It is nice to be thought of however and imitated.

Our point guard next season has yet to graduate high school, attend his senior prom and probably is just now getting used to his class ring – but Kentucky fans are pinning their future basketball hopes on his back as the program’s savior.

Seriously – how far has UK basketball fallen that we – three years in a row – must rely on 18-year-olds to save our once mighty program?

Why doesn’t Matt post some video some high school junior so we’ll be able to get a glimpse of 2013’s point guard?

This revolving door of VERY talented, but inexperienced players whose draw to UK is not a chance to win a banner or play for the proud Blue and White program – but rather to audition on a prominent stage in order to securer a quick trip to the NBA.

Kentucky fans are being fooled twice. Once by Calipari who saw this job as a way to ‘perfect’ his get-rich-quick scheme of hoping to cover-up his coaching inadequacies by landing a monster recruiting class and just out-talenting his way to a banner. (Long shot at best)

Kentucky fans are also being fooled and used by players who have exploited Rupp Arena and the proud histotry and tradition of 100 plus years of Kentucky Basketball Excellence in order to cash a paycheck after attending school for eight months, and often – classes for only one semester.

But hey – we gonna be sick next year!!!
