UK Fans of the Day Wish There Were Afternoon Notes

kd

There are a number of reasons why this is a slow day. It is football season and the news is harder to come by…the basketball team was sent home for the weekend…many people are enjoying opening day at Keeneland…and it is gorgeous outside, making staying in and creating UK news not a priority. Thus we have very few things to say except this….

Feel free to make fun of Louisville. Actually dont make fun of them…feel a bit sorry for them. I really sense a sentiment developing from my Louisville callers to the radio show of potential “Rick Pitino fatigue.” If your coach has a press conference, says this season will be a “Bridge” to next year and basically writes off the possibility of success…well you expect a few things. First and foremost, you expect that the team will be better next year. Card fans had themselves convinced they were getting Tony Wroten, Quincy Miller and Deuce “Bigalow” Bello, and visions of national championships dancing in their heads. Now they are unlikely to get any of those players and are left to console themselves with “well at least we dont cheat” chants that are not only lame, but also delusional.

Rick Pitino is hanging by a thread with many in the Cards base and if either Blackshear or Behanan were to decommit, things could get ugly. So dont hate, have sympathy. It is the right thing to do (or you can hate, either way will be funny).

On the radio today, we had the great Mark Krebs in studio once again. He was funny and helped dissect the Cards program state, the Enes Kanter situation and gave his guilty pleasure song (it was bad). Check it out below and catch up if you have missed past episodes. This was a good week for us and the episodes can pass the time if you are wasting away this weekend.
