UK Fans of the Day Want UK Football Depth Chart

It has been a great (and hot) day here in Western Kentucky, as the KSR Tour rolls on through Madisonville. Tomorrow we are at Hudson Toyota Chrysler for the show and we will begin at 9 am Central time. It will be an exciting time, but a lot of news will have already taken place. Mark Stoops takes the podium at SEC Media Days tomorrow at 9:30 am Eastern (8:30 Central) for his first foray into the SEC Media world. Make sure and tune in early in the morning to hear what he says and Tyler’s reports on UK’s trip to the SEC Media Circus tomorrow.

Until then, today the UK Media Guide was released and it included the first depth chart of the fall. Now this is an early look at the team and doesn’t include any of the true Freshman that will surely come in and play minutes (like Ryan Timmons). But it gives you a good indication of where we are going into fall camp and with the new arrivals about to make their presence felt. Lots of work to be done, but you can feel the excitement in the air.

And I hate that we have two noon starts in the first two home games…I mean that really sucks.

I can’t get to high on Max Smith. I know he’s good. It’s just so hard for me to count on someone that’s consistently injured

6 true freshman and late enrolled juco’s are not gonna be listed until spring. Nate Willis who’s also a late arriving juco isn’t listed either even though he’s almost a lock to start at cb

Keeneland can suck sometimes for its cold weather.

I look at that depth chart and at least 3 positions I went “yikes”.

The secondary is, in my opinion, our biggest liability. I think our D-Line looks pretty solid though. Hopefully the linebackers will be good. If so, we will probably be frustrated all year long when offenses convert through the air on 3rd and long.

Are Gruenschlaeger and Love in the wrong positions? Otherwise they are oddly sized for SEC guards and tackles.

@14. Za’Darius enrolled in January and has been at UK for the spring semester, thus he’s listed. I assume you would be aware of this since he played in the spring game and dominated.

Wow. We’re pathetically thin at each and every position and half out starters wouldn’t start for Toledo. I seriously don’t see how we win 3 games.

    21) what are you basing that on? How they played under Joker? If your using last years performances as a measuring stick your looking in the wrong direction completely.

We don’t have elite SEC talent but several will be starters aren’t on campus yet and and several other starters are actually very good (D. Miller, K. Mitchell, Dupree, Williamson, Rumph, and Z Smith) with others showing a lot of promise last year (K. Henderson, Quinn, Tiller, etc.) And our 3 qbs all have a lot of potential they’re just young.

Our kids aren’t as bad as many think, they just weren’t developed at all under joker .. Stoops isnt lying, weve got work to do, but he’s also managing expectations and lowering the bar a bit which is the right thing to do.

We went 2-10 last year with worse coaching and less talent
