As we move closer to the Central Michigan test, there are a couple of site happenings that need to be cleaned up a bit. So here we go:
— As we announced a few weeks ago, Beisner, Drew Franklin and I are all doing KSR/KSTV stuff full time and are taking joint responsibility for the site management. But as we get closer to the beginning of basketball season, some other changes are coming as well. Will Lentz, a one-time winner of the KSR Blogger contest and the current Weekend Editor for the site will be moving on to get ready for a career in the fine art of law. Will has been one of the best writers we have had on the site and absolutely great to work with over the years. We hate to see him go, but wish him nothing but the best of luck. He is a tremendous guy, a talented writer and we hope to still be able to make swimming jokes with him for years to come.
With that news, we are excited to welcome Tyler Thompson as the new Weekend Editor for KSR. If you have been reading the site for a while, you know Tyler’s work and we are excited to finally have her in a bigger role on the site. Join us in welcoming her to the new gig. Also, we are excited to announce that Dave “Buzz” Baker will be joining us for a weekly post on Mondays. We love Buzz and can’t believe we have someone of actual talent and credibility who wants to be part of this motley crew. And in news that made Drew Franklin tingle, Chris Tomlin, one of the founding fathers of the site is going to return for a twice-weekly post in his unique and creative style. Tomlin was around from the get go and after some time to refresh his wits, we are excited to have him return to regular posting. We look forward to these changes and are excited for a couple of others that we will be announcing very soon.
— We have a couple of major projects coming on the site over the next few months, as well as increased coverage as basketball season ramps up. As part of those festivities, we are looking for two major sponsors to join us on KSR and be part of a couple of exciting opportunities. There is no more cost-efficient advertising in Kentucky than KSR, and if you are interested, shoot me an email at [email protected]
— Finally, the Wildcat Bash at Donamire Farm is this weekend and there will be a strong KSR presence there for what is a great event. It raises money for Cardinal Hill and will be a tremendous opportunity to get ready for the UK season to begin with other UK fans. A number of UK folks will be in attendance, former UK quarterbacks will compete in a QB challenge and there are tons of prizes, etc. You can learn more about the event and order tickets at Cardinalhill.org. We also will be giving away two tickets for the event tomorrow on the radio show. Plus they will be giving away these cleats below that have the Maker’s Mark wax on them. Bizarre, but kind of awesome.
