— Calipari said today that he will probably continue to bring Lamb off the bench to provide a spark for the offense. He said he moved Lamb to sixth man to “make him fight.” Lamb is averaging almost 11 points since Darius Miller was bumped into the starting lineup three games ago. He scored four points at Tennessee and 14 against both Auburn and Arkansas.
— Coach Cal also addressed the new “blarge” phenomenon. Cal believes any block/charge call should be a block to prevent defenders from sliding under an airborne offensive player. He suggested that officials watch the game and not the flopping. And as far moving the new block/charge arc out two more feet goes, Cal said, “Play basketball. You can either guard your guy or you can’t.” Cal said the new arc was put in place to reduce offensive fouls.
— “If your personality isn’t aggressive, you should be an accountant.” That’s how Calipari feels about going for lose balls. (No disrespect to you accountants out there.)
— After Kevin Stallings took a shot at UK’s schedule earlier this week, Cal fired back by saying it’s all up to the TV schedule. “If they want to play a certain day, don’t put it on TV.” He said he’d be willing to play every Thursday-Saturday if that’s what the TV schedule dictated. #CoachCalSaysShutUpCoachStallings
