Today’s UK fans of the day are posing in front of what Commonwealth Stadium will look like in two months if the Cats don’t get it together.
— Memphis made an in-home visit to Alex Poythress last night. Afterwards, Poythress said he doesn’t have a favorite right now and all five schools on his list are still in contention. The 6-8, 220-pound slasher is considering Memphis, Kentucky, Florida, Duke and Vanderbilt. Luke Walton was one of the coaches for Memphis who made the trip to Clarksville. Who knew he was at Memphis now? Apparently, Pastner hired him as an assistant until the NBA lockout ends. Am I the only who didn’t know that?
— Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is already setting things up for the loss Nuclear Minter is about to give him. Weis said he is feeling a little miserable after watching his offense practice this week. “I think we can get a lot better on offense than we are right now,” he said. We can get a lot better.” I’d prefer that they wait to get better next week.
— One of the keys to stopping Florida’s offense might be watching from the bench. Starting defensive end Collins Ukwu has a sprained knee and he’s questionable for Saturday’s game. Collins has 14 tackles and one sack on the season. The Cats are going to need him out there.
— Joker said he doesn’t know why the team’s two-minute offense worked so well against Louisville, because they have been consistently bad in the two-minute drills in practice. I still vote for running it. Let’s go.
— Florida is fast. Very, very fast.
— Marcus Camby was arrested on marijuana charges yesterday. He was pulled over in a black 2010 Porsche Panamera for an equipment violation when the police officer smelled marijuana in the car. Somehow this is Coach Cal’s fault.
— Matt and Ryan Lemond were live from Fan Outfitters this morning with lots of basketball talk and a questionable headline from the Courier-Journal. It won’t be live this time around but I still encourage you to listen…
