Isn’t this picture a pleasant sight on this cold and dreary Monday? Just close your eyes, breathe deep, and let the sounds of the waves wash over you… You’re relaxing in a chair with your favorite book while the birds coo pleasantly in the trees. Oh, look! In the distance, what looks to be a scantily clad female is bringing you a drink! Wait, why is she so red? And why is she wearing a neck brace—AAAAAH! It’s not a beautiful woman, it’s….
— Bobby Petrino! In case you’ve been offline this morning, Bobby Petrino has been hired as Western Kentucky’s new head coach. Yes, seriously. Petrino met with Western’s administration this morning and will be introduced in a press conference at 4 p.m. central time. The hire gives a totally new meaning to the term
— That of course means that the August 31st season opener between Western and Kentucky in Nashville just got a lot more interesting. Can someone get the Wildcat a neck brace, please?
— He’s met with Stoops, the team, and now Neal Brown’s agent is even coming public with the news that will be Kentucky’s new offensive coordinator. Expect a press conference at some point today or tomorrow.
— Add one more former Florida State assistant to Mark Stoops’ staff at UK: Erik Korem. Korem was the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach under Jimbo Fisher and according to footballscoop.com, he will hold a “sports performance role” on Stoops’ staff. Anybody else from Tallahassee want to join in? @NosillaDraw? (just kidding)
— Julius Randle posted a blog on USA Today’s high school site about his recent foot injury that ended his senior season. Randle said that Coach Cal reached out to him after the injury and said that in the worst-case-scenario that Randle couldn’t play basketball anymore, he would still give him a scholarship to come to UK and be his assistant. #ThatSoCal
— You wouldn’t think Cal was such a nice guy judging by the latest practice video posted at CoachCal.com. Cal let cameras inside one of the practices last week, and let’s just say it’s intense. I am worn out just watching it. Mark Stoops sighting at the 1:11 mark!
— On today’s show, Matt and the gang talked about Neal Brown, Stoops’ staff, and the Cats’s win over Portland. They also revisited movie theater etiquette. Don’t miss it…
