Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes

 – If there’s a hot news story on this slow Tuesday, it’s the report that Doron Lamb is wearing a walking boot on his injured left ankle.  You can assume that it’s mostly precautionary and Lamb will be available to play this weekend in Tampa.  If he was able to give it a go in a game that was thought to only have slight impact on the Cats’ season, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t expect him to be ready a week later when they start the NCAA Tournament.  Get your goggles ready.

 – The postseason awards continue to roll out today as Terrence Jones and Brandon Knight were named USBWA Freshmen All-Americans.  Both players were named to the first team.  I think we can all assume that this award is going to be mentioned quite frequently over the next several years.

 – It was reported wrong initially (at least on here) and it has now been corrected, so make note if you are in or going to be in Tampa.  UK’s open practice will start at 1:30 Wednesday at the St. Pete Times Forum.  The open practices start with Princeton at noon and then re-start with a different team every 45 minutes.  The order after the Tigers is UC-Santa Barbara, UK, Florida, UCLA, West Virginia, UAB and then either Clemson or VCU.

 – We’ll put a full list of them up in a later post this afternoon, but make sure you check out all of the UK events in Tampa through the UK Tampa Bay Alumni Club.  The events are organized by the same group who put together all of the fun times and laughs during the SEC Tournament two years ago.  Before Gillispie cut them short, of course.

Finally, if you missed the Kentucky Sports Radio show this morning, the podcast is available below.  I want to call it the best show in the history of the radio, but that’s only because I came on at the end and I have a massive ego.  Matt talked about UK and Princeton, the life of a big-time reporter in Dayton and the future of Billy Gillispie and Tubby Smith.  Check it out.

Is the CATS body spelling not like a universal thing. Why do so many people do it differently? Just watch the dam mascot dummies

You guys may have already discussed by I just watched a segment of ESPN’s OTL interviewing NCAA’s President Mark Emmert. Comes across as an arrogant, condescending Elitist with his own self-serving agenda.

Interesting is that he requires body guards to attend NCAA metting outside of NCAA’s headquarters.

According to his AAU coach, 2011 star DeAndre Daniels is no longer considering Kentucky; he has replaced them on his list with Duke

HOW DO WE BEAT OHIO STATE,(if we get there}?

Its very simple. LET sullinger score and be the offense. DO NOT DOUBLE TEAM HIM!!!!

He cant score 60 in the paint. JORTS can handle him somewhat.

DO NOT come off of the THREE POINT SHOOTER and try to double team Sully. THIS IS OHiO STATES OFFENSE!!

WE are a bigger team on the perimeter with the exception of Diebler. IF we stop DIEBLER BUFORD & LIGHTYS THREES WE WIN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

Since when did cats fans start bashing eachother? It might not be the perfect performance of the CATS cheer, but these ladies were having a great time cheering on the cats just like the rest of us. Now let’s get back to talking basketball!

I’m the S. And if you don’t like it, well, I really don’t care (and I think your grouchy). It’s called having fun, being true blue fans, and having a good time. We are not the mascot or the cheerleaders so we will do our cheer the way we want! GO CATS!!!

Just a fyi to people who were thinking about going to the Luxury Box on Thursday for the breakfast buffet and staying for the pep rally we just called and they said that there would be no buffet because they did not get a large enough response. Wondering why they would think they would not have enough people I mean most cat fans are not even in town yet. We will be there for the pep rally!!!

You all rip me for being Old School but it’s pathetic how some of you guys refer to ladies on here.

The above picture is just of some young gals enjoying the game and some of your posts border on the obscene and that’s really sad.

Used to be a real man would be a gentleman and refrain from that kind of talk, especially knowning that there are ladies and children reading these posts. But I guess real men are being more rare today.

I do wish those of you who hit the pause button on your maturity process sometime during junior high would either grow up and learn how to behave.

People criticize me because I’m old school – but used to be men knew how to be gentlemen and not talk about women they way they do on here – especially knowing that women and children are reading this site.

I guess we have a dire shortage of real men left in the world.
