UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes
A couple of quick notes on a day of KSR transition to Atlanta.
– In his latest blog entry, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi publishes his “S Curve” system, which projects seeding and gives the Cats a good chance of creeping into the three-seed. Lunardi ranks UK as the #2 four seed, one spot ahead of Louisville. The Cats would need Wisonsin or Syracuse to falter, as well as an SEC Tournament title to get themselves into a better seed. As of now, that doesn’t seem too impossible.
– On Tom Leach’s show this morning, CBS’ Jerry Palm took it one step further and said that Kentucky could get a three seed simply by beating Florida in the SEC Tournament. Palm said that “standings are irrelevant” and that the Cats would have a resume worth placing in a three spot. Again, a positive sign heading into this weekend.
– The next stop on the optimism train is Basketball Prospectus, where John Gasaway gives Kentucky a 41% chance to win the SEC Tournament, by far the best of the entire conference. Florida checks in at second place with 23% and Vandy is third with 17%. Palm also gives the Cats a 63% chance of making the SEC final.
– If you want a pre-SEC hoops appetizer this evening, check out Michael Gilchrist in a battle for the national title at 8:00. Kind of. His St. Patrick’s team is ranked #1 in the nation and will face #2 St. Patrick’s in a season-ending battle for the state and national championship. You can watch it on the school’s site.

If UK wins the SEC Tourney they will have the 3rd seed locked up, no matter what the other schools do. Mark it down.
Go Big Blue!! My family and I went to the SEC tournament last year in Nashville (Catsville) and it was a BLAST. The fan base was 90% UK and 10% other schools, amazing. We truly have the best fans in the NCAA. Anyone headed to Atlanta? (Catlanta)

I turned KSR radio on this morning for the first time. I was hoping to hear some in depth analysis of the SEC tournament. To my extreme disappointment the topic of the day was some idiotic thing about telling some teenager how to impress a girl. Talk about a bunch of garbage. I will not make the mistake of turning that station on again.

I was hoping Florida and Alabama getting more hype to win the SEC Tournament. I wanted to Cats to sneak up on them in the Semi’s and Final’s. I just hope all these hype does not give our boys wrong impression of what it will take to win the SEC Tournament. It would be nice to win a SEC Tournament Championship just hours before the Selection Sunday.
I tuned into KSR today to listen for my very first time. I was hoping to hear an indepth analysis of the upcoming SEC Tournament since that is what should be on the minds of any good UK fan. To my extreme disppointment, the idiotic topic under discussion was to try and tell some teenage boy how to impress a girl. Now don’t get me wrong, impressing girls is important, but not on a sports radio station. I will not make the mistake of tuning in again.
