A few notes for your amusement…
– The Good Doctor Jerry Tipton had an notable nugget in one of his articles this morning or last night or something, pointing out that Brandon Knight has 18 assists and 23 turnovers in SEC road games this season, compared to 31 and 14 at home. We all know how important Kentucky’s nightly success depends on their freshmen point guard and tonight should be no different in Fayetteville. The good news, though, is that Arkansas’ lack of defensive pressure should allow him to play a bit more comfortably on offense and he should easily find lanes to attack off the dribble and push the ball up court. If he plays like he has the last two games from an assist-to-turnover perspective (over 3:1), the Cats win easily.
– You’ve probably heard this about 300 times already, but John Pelphrey is on the hotseat. His record hasn’t been spectacular (67-57), but the off-court issues are what might be his undoing. The lates involves an apparently strained relationship between Pelphrey and Marshawn Powell, who said he wouldn’t comment on his relationship with his coach and mentioned earlier that he wasn’t too focused on being a leader. If and when the Hogs go searching for a new coach, the annual attitude issues with the guys he’s trying to count on will probably be a huge reason why.
– The letter of allegations came today and Tennessee appears to be as committed as ever to Bruce Pearl. They have a way out if the want to fire him as he continues to work without a contract, but they seem to be ready to ride this thing out with him. There are countless reasons why the Vols should not be considered an elite program. Hanging on to a guy who has lied to investigators and was just sited for a lack of ethical conduct because they probably can’t do better might be at the top of that mountain.
– If you missed it last night, Vandy’s mascot bloodied the nose of a student after punching/mascot slapping him. Obviously, we don’t condone violence at Kentucky Sports Radio, but this type of dork-on-dork crime is not frowned upon. Video here.
– This might qualify as a “space filler” note, but the St. Pete Times had a little profile of Reggie Hanson’s daughter, who is averaging 25 points per game as a high school sophomore. Here is the article.
– If she keeps working really hard, she might get the chance to play for former Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson, who is coaching what should be called “40 Minutes of Nagging Pressure”. Do not feed the monster.
If you missed the show this morning, Big EZ put on the random college hoodie and hold down the fort for Matt Jones. EZ and Drew the Intern talked about tonight’s game, NCAA sanctions and the fury over the high school All-American games. Check out the podcast below.

Beis, hahahaha.
I’m gonna be like Riki Lake, and “not go there” although, they sure got their “O” game on.
1-3-2
who started that “hand gesture”….i’ve seen a lot of non-uk doing the same thing.
Pearl’s got have some x-rated pictures of some of vol’s higher-ups.
I thought we might have a game where JT didn’t have a negative stat to bring up. Thanks Jerry for keeping your streak alive.
3-1-2.. if I had to..

Is Knight on track to graduate in 2 years or is that just something reporters thought about before the season started?
As a general rule, let’s not bring up any valid points that Tipton actually stumbles upon. I really don’t want to encourage his rampant negativity even if he gets lucky every now and then and makes a decent point.
That being said, Knight’s struggles may be a good indication of our struggles on the road, but what exactly is his point? We should play Knight less on the road? Argggh.
You don’t feed the monster, YOU FEED THE NAIL!!!
You think Pearl should be fired because he lied to investigators?
What about Cal lying about Enes to everyone who will listen to him?
Cal said Enes is here to get an education at an American university. Thats what he wants to do and its not about basketball.. Really Cal? Really? If that were the case then he would either A.) go to the NBA and take online courses during the season so he can get his degree or B.) stay at Kentucky, keep practicing with the team and get coached by Cal and leave for the NBA after he graduates.
Cal knew neither of these options would happen, but he continues to LIE like the scum he is just to make him appear to be a good person.
11) troll alert.. get outta here with that bullshyt…
#11- Umm…lying to NCAA official investigators is way worse. Thanks for trying though.
11-what about Ricky P lying to his wife and making everyone that eats at Porcini’s feel uncomfortable because they may be sitting in his mess???
In like 2003, I remember watching from the lower arena in Rupp as Tucky bloodied the nose of some girl during warm-ups.
Wanna know what Pelphrey is on the hot seat? Cause he doesn’t jack around with off-the-court problems. He will kick you off the team, straight up.
He seems to be trying to do things the right way, unfortunately he has ran off his better talent at the same time.
Give the monster nails!!
Hey #11, what about you lying to yourself thinking you’re cool.
Is it true that Rick has aked for 15 sec. visitation rights each month at Karen’s prison? 🙂 Just curious.
Three in your eye!
How about 9 in your eye?
Apparently while Mr. C was crowd-surfing, the guy who got punched had grabbed Mr. C’s….um, “personal area.”
That’s according to a Vandy cheerleader student worker of mine.
But, as Mr. Mackey would say, hitting is bad, mmmkay? It’s really bad.
Matt Pilgrim just may be a bigger nutball than my namesake.
I’m having a really difficult time figuring what order to put these ladies in.

They look about as dumb as the players do when they make that sign after a made 3. Hit your shot and then go and play defense please… You can make all the signs you want after you win!
If Kanter only cared about going to the NBA then why is he still going to class and why is he sitting on the sidelines with a clipboard during games – all of this despite the fact that he isn’t even allowed to play? For a kid who will be a top 10 pick in the draft, this is certainly strange behavior. Most potential top 10 picks who were ruled ineligible would have been out the door and collecting some sort of paycheck or endorsement deal as soon as the ruling came down. Point is, Kantplay, you are clueless, just like the rest of your bottom-feeding, semi-literate, fellow UL fans.
3- The 3 goggles started in Portland with the Trailblazers. Fan Outfitters has a shirt with the gesture on it.
11. If we wanted your opinion…we’d beat it out of ya. Cal hasn’t lied your just a hater that likes to beat them gums
26. old curmudgeon alert!
#24: I would like to train them all on taking deep shots.
