UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes

Its an “all-Lebron” all the time day, where we follow what the King will do and try to act like that contrary to all logic, Chris Bosh is a superstar. Lets get some notes:

— The one recruiting story that is sticking today is the seemingly cool relationship developments between Kentucky and Quincy Miller. There was a time when Miller was tweeting about UK every day, wearing UK paraphenalia to every game and trying to convince other players to join the Cats. But this week, he has said that UK doesnt call him as much and he has begin talking up Louisville (turning Cards fans into a frenzy…they remind me of UK fans during the end of the Tubby era, convinced we will get everyone, even as we get no one). Calipari and Orlando Antigua went to Germany to meet with other players and it seems as if “Miller is a UK lock” is no longer common thought. Has UK backed off due to questions of attitude issues (which occurred last year with CJ Leslie as the year went on?). Or is UK still right there and the player is just looking at his options? Either way, UK will still get their class, but now Pitino has a shot to pull a top 10er. Can he and the “new brand” do it?

— John Calipari announced that he will have three lottery picks at his Pro Camp that runs from July 29-31. John Wall, Demarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe will all join him in Lexington for the event and I am told a couple more older players may make appearances as well. It is for all kids K-12 and is the kind of event that is so big, we might even try to convince them to let Drew in (he has the maturity of a 10th grader, so maybe that will work).

— Lots of linkage going on today. The first is interesting to me at least, as the building plans for the Wildcat Coal Lodge are now on the internet and available for viewing. I know nothing about this sort of thing, so maybe someone with better knowledge of construction plans can summarize it for us in the comments section. But it still amazes me that people leave this stuff up when blogs like ours are quick to get it and put it out.

— I’ll admit that I dont know who Susan Shan is. But when someone says to me that a beautiful female Asian journalist writes a blog entry about her UK fandom, well then I will link it. I am easily pleased and Susan seems to have been a dedicated member of the Big Blue Nation for a long time. Here is our girl Susan repping the Big Blue:

— And finally, federal prosecutors have released their pre-trial memorandum in the Karen Sypher case and it outlines what they will try to prove, mainly that Karen Sypher attempted to extort Ricky Three Stacks after their previous affair. This trial begins July 26 and will be the social event of the summer. The Turkey Hunter already knows what he is wearing.

More all day as we try to stay cool in this oppressive heat….
