Kind of a slow news day, but we will get to it nonetheless:
— Calipari made another comment yesterday that has folks talking. He said that UK’s team would always be young and thus the Cats had to learn how to win with such a roster. The comments arent really a surprise and merely reflect the reality of the situation. Kentucky will have a young team and will have numerous players go straight to the league. Thus they have to learn how to build a team and win very quickly. I am firmly in the camp that believes you CAN win a title doing it Calipari’s way. But this team over the next 5-7 years will be the test.
— In case you missed it, some of the early 2011 mock drafts are out and guess what, there are three Kentucky players projected into the lottery. Enes Kanter is projected top 5 in all drafts, Brandon Knight 3-10 and Jones at the end of the lottery. It will be another “Greatest night in UK history” next year in June.
— Some interesting news from UK’s past as Heshimu Evans has become a dual citizen of Portugal of all places, allowing him to play for the Portugese national team in world basketball games to come. I have always said about Heshimu that it means not only “warrior” but “Portugal” so we wish him nothing but the best as he becomes the Christiano Ronaldo of the court.
— In case you missed it, Rick Pitino announced that he would be “rebranding” the Louisville program with the new hire of Assistant Tim Fuller. Fuller said that they were no longer going to lose top recruits to UK and that it was time to get the best in the nation to play for the Cards. Good luck with that.
We will have some more recruiting stuff in the night post tonight, althoguh to be honest, I find recruiting sort of boring now. We are going to get the best players….so why sweat it Plus more news as the day goes on and we will talk about a new feature that is coming to KSR podcast world. Stay tuned…..
