Its been a crazy weekend and we got a lot to get to, so lets get started:
— Demarcus Cousins travelled the state, going from Pikeville to Elizabethtown to Florence and all stops in between. He played basketball, sold autographs and generally made everyone around the state happy. Wall is the star and Patterson is the beloved warrior…but Cousins may be the most fun and the player fans want to see the most.
— The backlash amongst reporters on the Bledsoe story is everywhere now. Gregg Doyel and Bomani Jones have both blasted it on Twitter (with Doyel throwing in that he hates Pete Thamel) and the entire affair is starting to swing in the other direction. Case in point, read this nice article on SBnation.com wondering why does everyone hate Calipari?
— As we reported earlier in the weekend, Eric Bledsoe is considering filing a lawsuit against whoever leaked his transcripts to the media. I will have more on this tonight, but the suspect list is growing smaller and smaller.
— It is always interesting when you write a piece that strikes a nerve amongst people. The Forde/Freeman thing last night certainly did that. Lots of feedback from sources near and far. The sportswriter world is a gossipy group.
— At the SEC Spring Meetings (which are going on now), they are considering a proposal to reseed the SEC Tournament regardless of divisions. Good idea and one that helps the teams in the SEC East.
— Becoming a big fan of Sons of Anarchy. Purchased Season One and enjoying it more and more.
Finally, a big thanks to all of you who have written, emailed and texted support for the column last night. I went back and forth on whether to write it and likely did some damage to myself going forward in “rocking the boat” and putting it out there. But thats the way it goes and ultimately I am proud of the product. Hope all is well and you are enjoying the hardest Tuesday of the year…
