UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes

There is very little in the way of news going on, so lets just hit some thoughts:

— The Michael Chandler news from Jerry Meyer today is interesting to me. When Chandler first decommitted, I was told that he was UK bound. But it had been quiet for a month, and I wondered if things had changed. Not so says Rivals.com. If Chandler becomes part of the 2011 class, and UK takes 2/3 of the UL haul that Rick said could “rebuild the program” last year…well then he has to move doesnt he?

— Big shout out to Jesse Witten, a KSR fan who is also a rising pro tennis player. Like last year at the US Open, he qualified into the French Open this year before he was defeated in the first round. Great play by the former UK tennis great.

— I know we say it a lot, but it bears repeating. Josh Harrellson is killing it in China. As the tour comes to an end, he is still the leading scorer and team leader in rebounds. A Jorts that gets playing time next year could make the KSR server explode.

— Do you watch the tv show Weeds? If you dont, you should. Catching up on past seasons on DVD in the last week…good stuff.

— Flip Saunders, the Coach of the Washington Wizards, says John Wall could “revolutionize” PG position. The link also contains quotes from Wall about playing with Gilbert Arenas…which he seems willing to do, but nevertheless skeptical of.

— The newest Chad Ford Mock Draft has Derrick Favors going #2 and Evan Turner #3. That would put Cousins potentially in Minnesota, but that seems odd to me with Kevin Love already there. But hey, no team would have two wider bodies down low than that one.

— Seriously..a hairbrush Preston Knowles? A hairbrush?

— Today is Razor Ramon’s birthday. Harris doesnt love the nickname (he prefers “Chasin the Dream” but like Delicious, I cant call a grown man “Chasin the Dream”). He is working out now to try and make a pro career for himself and we wish him nothing but the best.

Demarcus Cousins will be in Pikeville on Friday and Elizabethtown on Saturday to sign autographs this weekend. Check out your local affiliates for specific information. Cuz will make it worth your time I am sure.

— There really arent two slimier guys than the Pump Brothers who are at the center of the Kansas scandal. But I will repeat the earlier comment…there are many like them and they are just the tip of the iceberg.

— Another good recruit signed by UK football, who continues to focus on speed. We will find out if these guys all have talent when they arrive. But there wont be many teams in the SEC that will have more quickness in their class.

— UK women’s team got another commitment today with Bria Goss, the #71 ranked player in America. The UK recruiting for the women’s team has been astounding in the last two years and it just keeps going.

Hope you are enjoying this afternoon and getting ready for the weekend. I will be on the air on 1350 AM from 6-7 pm tonight to talk UK sports so make sure and check it out. I also have some “Justified” to watch tonight to catch up, so lets hope nothing happens….
