UK Fans of the Day Want Afternoon Notes

ukfans5

So lets talk turkey with some afternoon notes:

— The big news of the afternoon comes from Andy Katz, who in his ESPN blog gives you all the scoop on Hawaii basketball (summary…its boring) and some UK notes. The main note is that he believes Rod Strickland will be retained even after the DUI of Sunday morning. In addition, Katz believes the Darnell Dodson decision is not finalized and that he could end up transferring, playing in Europe or potentially even staying.

— Katz also dealt with the Enes Kanter issue, confirming that Kanter has cleared the NCAA Clearinghouse, but still has the amateur question that we spoke of earlier today. He quotes a UK source as believing that in the end, Kanter will be eligible and I am quoting a source (otherwise known as my eyes) as saying he will be a Beast.

— Adrien “Dont call me that Duke floor slapper” Wojo from Yahoo Sports tweeted today that John Wall is close to signing with Lebron’s marketing company, a move that would seem to come as no surprise. The UK-John Wall-Lebron connections will continue to get tighter and showcase just what can happen when you have a player that connects with your University (either by attending or in Lebron’s case adopting) and then keeps that connection while in the NBA. Yiggy Yes Yallin, Lebron is now John Wallin. Oh yeah and Wall is on twitter now. His account is here.

— They are raising football ticket prices. They were already really cheap so lets not fake outrage.

— If you havent seen it yet (and chances are you have not), here is a video of an interview with Stacey Poole and some other top players in Florida. It ends with Stacey doing a freestyle rap that seems like it could be good, but then again I dont know. I do know however that at the next podcast taping, I plan on having Woo try to recreate it:
